IIRC I paid closer to $400 to transfer mine from Chicago. Rest assured, it was as described by CarMax though.

Why, of course I do :D

11-years ago, when I first bought it
    [IMG]

Current day, taken about 2-years to 6-months ago. It's been in the garage, unused, for the most part since I bought the 2007, about 3 years ago. I drive it about once every few months to get a feel for whats broken (carb, brakes, engine burning/leaking)

My friend took these last two. I think her camera phone was set on "dreamy" cause damn, those are some J.J. Abrams-style lens flares!

It's a 302 Windsor with about 200,000-miles on it. Interior and Exterior are in various states of dis-repair but still pretty clean. Before I took the dash pad out to work on the gauge-cluster wiring, I would get compliments all the time about how good it looked for not being restored yet.

lol, sorry for being so needy. If you don't have time for all that, then no worries. Just a good kick to the tires and a "yep, looks good" may be enough :p

Have you ever heard a women make that incredibly annoying, high-pitch squeal of excitement? Yup, did that.

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

edit: Oh, nice! I just noticed you have a V6 6-speed too! How do you like it? Is it pretty powerful and runs through the gears nicely? Do you tow anything with it? Have you been able to improve your mileage over the guessimated 17/19mpg? Do you off-road it?

oh the V6 is great, plenty of power.
shifting the 6 speed is a little tricky. A lot of people hate it but mine hasn't had any trouble. I would recommend a TRD short shifter. It makes it easier to row the gears.
I normally get 17 mpg everywhere. If you can keep it between 60-65 on the highway it will get 19-20 but most the time it's right around 17-18.
but I also have slightly bigger tires and 4WD so I would think a 2WD would do a little better.
Haven't done any towing just hauling my motorcycle.
Yes I have taken it off road. The 6 speed does great off road except in the sand. Just can't shift it fast enough for sand but maybe that's me.

Ah, what would you mean by "tricky?" I'm just learning to drive manuals, and my biggest flaw right now is killing it coming off of a dead stop. I would like to think I'm okay at it once I'm rolling :p

I paid $2,500 and could get anywhere from $3,000-5,000 for it so, technically, he's right :p

    When did you buy it?

Edit: I see that it was ~11 years ago. That means you paid a little over $3000 in today's money factoring in inflation. Have you been paying property tax and car insurance on this vehicle for 11 years? If so, what is your yearly premium and tax? Also, have you ever done oil changes, put on new tires, taken it to a mechanic or otherwise put any money into it?

    It's not a thread jack. It's a correction. There's a difference.

As tools, they can definitely indirectly earn you more than they cost you.

    Kind of like hammers.

But on a simple buy/sell basis, they don't work as standalone investments.

    That's all I'm sayin'.

looks to me like the oil cooler under the oil filter, not sure, mine doesn't have that

Looks like the factory Class IV hitch... again, mine came with a dealer added Class III so I am not 100%

interior looked great except for the non-factory floormats

the only other thing I saw that was the front tires are just about shot but the rears are brand new.

I didn't drive it as they were kinda busy and I didn't want to waste the kids time. He fired it up, sounded fine to me.

and when I say the 6 speed is a little tricky... there are members who don't like the 6 speed and you will always see the comment "I've driven manuals for XX many years and this is the worst one, blah, blah, blah." Me personally, I don't see the big deal. I've driven lots of manuals and this one works just great for me. The stock shifter makes shifting a little notchy and sometimes you get hung up in between gears but I am sure if you drive your husbands truck you shouldn't have a problem with this.

well I wouldn't say near bald (thought I took a picture but I guess not).
They are close to the wear bars so you could maybe go a couple month on them.
