16k miles should have plenty of tread left.

Thank you SO MUCH! The great thing about Carmax, is they will replace the front tires, buff the paint scratches and either replace the glass, or go down in the price slightly for the scratched window. This does give me a little wiggle room to negotiate price.

We bought our other Tacoma at Carmax and they were really good about fixing damage that we pointed out.

    Wow, thank you, thank you!

I think I understand what you mean by "notchy." Our current 5-speed feels like that to me, so ideally I'll be ready for the feel of the 6-speed when it comes along.

One last thing, does it rain a lot in Wichita? Every picture I've seen of this Tacoma so far has water spots, bad ones, and I'm wondering if those are permanent?

I am also disappointed with the cleanliness of vehicles coming off car lots, ALL lots. I looked at some trucks here in Texas that were just....disasters. I work for a detailing company, and could seriously show these lots a thing or two about just VACUUMING the damn jump seats!

Not a lot but it's supposed to tonight and tomorrow so it will probably have more.
And yeah I wasn't impressed with the engine bay either. Wichita is very dusty and lots of pollen so it is hard to keep vehicles that stay outside clean. But then they spray tire shine (or something similar) on all the plastics and it looks terrible because it attracts more crap.

You can put new tires on it but it will still be a beater. Mine has 12k miles and tires look new. Do a car fax on this truck and see if it was a lease or repo. Betting you won't buy it anyway.

Hey, back off. What is your problem? You need to cut me down to make yourself feel better? You want to shit all over my choices? This Tacoma is neither a lease or a repo and if I can't sell my Mustang, then I can't afford the truck, but what is that to you? Back. Off. I heard you the first time and chose to ignore you.

No problem here mrs, Just trying to point out easy to see facts. With only 16k miles that truck has too many scratches along with worn tires and shows it was not taken care of. Now seeing that you asked the forum the question and with you comment back to me for my observations I hope you buy it and it fails all over you.
I was trying to be polite before but will now add that your stang is not a "classic" body style and not worth buying a truck and trailer to pull.

Try practicing in a parking lot with no gas pedal at all. This is a great way to teach people stick, and you can actually get through several gears w/out touching the gas if you are patient enough and have a long enough stretch.

Then you can practice feathering the gas...seriously, it really teaches clutch control!

Who the fuck do you think you are dude? If you don't have anything constructive to say then GTFO of her thread. I'm all for trolling when it's funny, but you are just blatantly being a douchenozzle.

Oh, and did you seriously call that truck a beater? That alone negates any advice you have given thus far.

    Mrs. Pib,

I think the truck looks great. Engine compartment looks fine, interior looks awesome, that is definitely the factory V6 towing package (at least the hitch itself from what I could tell), and as you said Carmax will work with you on the minor scratches and tires.

Let us know what you end up doing!

This was not very nice at all. As a matter of fact, that is downright mean. :( Why are you being mean?

ANYWAY...Mrs, why don't you run the VIN through the Toyota owner's site and see what kind of work Toyota has done on it?

Great advice! If you can't find anything that way, find a Toyota tech on here who can run it through TIS.

You are correct! But first take a look at themrspib said to me just because I was trying to point out the truck had bald tires at 16k. Her reply was very unkind and so I told her what I REALLY thought.
