    Hello All,

My first post. I'm looking to buy a new tacoma offroad 4x4. I've attached an image of the truck I'd like to build (or buy) but don't know where to start. Anyone willing to enlighten me as to what I need in terms of suspension and rims etc. Should I start with an TRD or a Pro series?

Or Will the dealer kit the truck out like this as per my request?

buy the truck stock, Dealer might up charge you on parts to make a little extra money. always fun seeing the progress of building a truck. Also all depends what you intend to use the truck for, I have a 3" lift, 285/70/17's building my truck for offloading and overland of course.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just edited my post to include photo.

I like the idea of building it out but don't know the suspension lingo. Any idea what this truck has in terms of suspension and rims?

    Thanks again.

Sweet truck, Man. Yeah something like yours is what I'm going for. The pic I included might also be above my pay grade but it was closest to what I would like to do.

I wouldn't buy the pro if you are going to take off all the pro stuff. Just build it the way you want

Ok valid question then.............. a lot of guys get on here trolling with some BS requests. As others have stated depends what your budget is like, what you want to do and really a lot of variables. Doing various searches on here will get you a ton of info............sometimes too much and your head will be spinning. DO A TON of research first, guys spend way too much money on garbage then regret it in the end.........Good luck with your search.

Thank you. I also own the 2001 TRD which I love and would like to eventually beef it up, but that's for a later project.

Right now I'm looking for brand spanking new.

That makes sense. So I assume the TRD offload is the place to start?

I mainly want to upgrade the suspension and get a wider wheel spread with some black rims, with best offload tires. That's what I liked most about the pic I posted. Don't really need the stuff on the roof or on the bed. However, I do like the front bumper.

I don't know about crawel control but I can imagine what that is. I'll research that and price it out.

crawl control...seems like a gimmicky thing that might not work when you (think) you need it.

    You can't replace skill.
