@BuzzardsGottaEat right. Even way more than that. $15k-20k are probably just for parts. Heck my set up has $12k in parts on it not including labor and not as complete nor as high performing as that guy's rig. Just that suspension on the OPs original post looks like $6k in parts (also looks to be to be long-travel).

Just looking at the picture as breakdown real quick without actually researching the actual cost in just parts:
    Kings Front/rear long-travel shocks: $4-5,000
UCA/LCA/CV (to be able to use long travel): $1,500
Whole side fender replacement to clear the long travel movement (including paint and for this, I am including labor): $1,500-$2,500
    Roof Rack: $800
    Sliders: $400
    Front Bumper: $1,500
    Skids: $350
    35" tires: $1,300
    Wheels: $900
    Winch: $500
Misc lighting that I can see: $400-600
Most likely regeared due to 35s: $1,500 in parts + $800 in labor
    Bed rack: $900
Traction board: $650 (looks like he has two sets)

Est total: $17-20k in mostly PARTS alone.
Add maybe $5-8k in labor + misc items in the interior and rear.

That's just me giving the average prices together and on what I can see.

Edit: actually it doesn't look like Long travel so take about $3,500 off of what I said.

OP, please pardon me for asking this question but what is your overall budget? Meaning truck + accessories. Do you have a sense or range of your "all in" price? It might help guide the discussion going forward.

I ask that with no judgment at all, of course. It is your money and I am a big fan of letting people spend it on what ever they choose to do.

Don't mind at all. After reading through this thread with all the great feedback I'm realizing that I may have to spend cash for the mods after the initial purchase. Originally I was hoping to finance that entire package thinking the dealer could add the suspension and wheels before I drove it off the lot, but again this thread has been helpful with my perspective.

So to answer your question (after financing) I have about 7k for add ons.

Awesome! Now that there is a known initial set up budget.
Take it out to some very light trails and see how you like it then you can come back here and research issues/want to upgrade based on what you feel and think you need.
Then use the 7k to upgrade it to at least perform adequately on moderate trails. It doesn't take much.

Really, Someone new to upgrading a vehicle finds an informative forum to get advice and that's grounds for being a troll?

To me a troll is someone who joins a forum to disrupt and insult people. Have I done that?

Thanks for the info. To me, and granted I am fairly new to all of this, that seems like a very health budget. From what I have learned though it won't get you all the way to the target vehicle but it is good to have an idea as to the model you would like to get as close as you can to -- nothing wrong with having dreams and aspirations at all! I bet you could find the owner of that truck (seems people know him) and you can get a list of the mods that he/she has undertaken.

Sounds like what it you are going to have to focus on is tires / wheels, a lift kit and front and rear bumpers. That might eat up your whole budget -- if not more. And, more importantly, you might not need all of those things. For example, I recently purchased a TRD OR (upgrading from my beloved 2005 SR5). I am trying to avoid a lift kit because I don't really need it and the suspension on the TRD OR is more than enough for my needs (I drive in some rugged places but do not over land or rock crawl). So I am looking at new tires (if I can get them without rubbing) and eventually a rear bumper along with a rack. I don't think I need a big front bumper to be honest. I share that so you know a lot of the times your needs will -- and should -- drive the build. You can still model your dream truck and get close without all of the stuff there. Just a thought.

One other question -- where are you located? I am in NY and, frankly, we don't have the amazing number of shops that seem to be in the West. If I were you I would focus on getting your truck locked down (supply is a bit tight) and then start visiting custom / off road shops and talking to the folks there about what is possible, what you need, what kind of products they recommend and what kind of budget you are looking at for those products. I wish I has that luxury here but I don't.

How close are you to making your purchase?

    ...stuff
    no, you're good man.

What I think everyone is trying to say is there is more than one way to skin a cat. Do you want the look, or the function? I’d say get the truck, and figure out what you want the truck to do, and what you need it to do. You can get the lift of that truck for a couple hundred for spacers, or 5-6k for a top end suspension setup. Which do you need? Do your research, we are here to help you along on the journey.

but do not have the dealer do this stuff, you will not win in that arena.

LOL to anyone who spends time typing out paragraph after paragraph teaching this idiot things he can learn by simply using google. Assuming he’s not a troll which he 100% is.

Not printing it off of nothing... yet.
They are releasing coins. Basically treasury converts your cash into coins (worth trillions) to limit/control inflation. All they are doing is releasing those coins right now, so we technically are lending money to ourselves. Pretty complicated stuff. Adds to our debt, until they convert those back into coins.
