I looked and can't find anything on this truck. I like my bass but it looks like there is no space to install a custom box. Does anybody know if it is possible or would I have to get rid of some stuff? Maybe I have to deal without it. I was thinking of modding the back seat to mave them forward or something like that. What is my best choice?

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
I believe it to be possible behind the back seats. You won't need to mod the seats themselves. You will need shallow mount subs and a custom box. MrMarv will eventually post here and give you more information, as I think he as built boxes for your model.

Thats looks pretty good but is that all the speakers you can install? I was hoping for some 10's. I guess I can attemp to build mine or find one. How does it sound and what speakers do you have?

I have an '04 DC available to me and upon my initial inspection it didn't look like I could get 10's back there. I have however read where a couple of guys say they have done it so I'm going to take another look and get some detailed measurements as soon as I can get my buddy to stop by again.

It sounds awsome! I love the sound of these pioneer subs. I didnt think it would be that great or big sounding, but man... I was surprised. 2 8" subs is plenty. Most of the stuff I listen too, the subs are at -3 to -7. yes, thats negative! lol...

I went to "supercrewsound.com" and got my custom box and subs. There the Premier TS-SW841D 8" shallow mount sub.

I am in the same boat with you Jalers. Moving the seat up would work to get some bigger subs behind there. I have actually seen a Taco that had subs UNDER the back seat. they cut under the seat and welded flat metal for MORE room. thats probably more difficult but would work.

I saw the supercrewsound box but it is more than what I want to spend and I had actually found that box with 2 good subs for $200 but I was to late.

Sundown Audio 100.4 and 1500D, Pioneer 880PRS, Zapco Refernece 6.5" comps, 2 10" Image Dynamics IDQ, 200ft of Second Skin deadener, Kicker wire
8" subs have been known to surprise the crap outta people. Do not let the 8" sub thing scare you, matter of fact I listen to a car in a IASCA comp recently with 8-8" subs with 600wrms worth of power and it was friggin amazing, loud, deep and shook the crap outta the car. Matter of fact I am thinking of 4 8" subs in my next competition car. You do the 8" subs right and you will be in audio bliss.

Those Pioneers look pretty good, at $90 a pop they should be. Looks like I might be going with those.

I have the same problem. I have an 01 DC, and it just looks like there is no room for anything besides those 8's.
This is one video that shows 2 Pioneer Premier 8" shallow mounts.

Thanks for that video. Sounds like I will be going with those 8's and now all I need is to take time to build the box. Could Evertaco23 tell me what thickness was the wood of the box you got?

I got the same box that was just posted. Its from Supercrewsound.com. I bielieve they used 3/4" MDF. but you could use 5/8 or even 1/2", 3/4 is just stronger.

I saw that box but don't want to spend that much on the box unless I need to. I will attemp the build and if it don't work I will break down and get the box from Supercrewsound.

Cool. If you get it built can you take some pics and post them. Maybe I can copy off of yours if I decide to build one.:)
