Plasti dip or bigger tires isn't a safety issue. If Toyota thought they could safely make the rear seat fit three, I'm sure they would have. Then they would have added another 4 useless cupholders for the 3rd seat.

I don't see any possible way to add a third seat the access cab to where I would be comfortable enough to actually let someone sit in it. My rear seats remain folded down for my tools and dog. The backseat in my truck is practically useless for people

just curious, is this a real possibility? if yota makes a bench for the front and I could get a different center console I'll totally do this.

got a 3rd kid due end of next mo. currently the two lil girls fit fine in the back, but I won't be able to fit the whole fam in my truck anymore.

If I can put buckets in my reg cab I'm sure you can put a bench in your access. If you wanna make a drive up to Montana I know a guy who really would love to get rid of his....

no, I am not. I'll set you straight

what I am asking is if it's possible to swap the front 2 bucket seats for a bench seat. assuming toyota makes a bench for same model year trucks (2nd gen) with the same bolt pattern, it'd be a straight one-for-one swap.
    Not exactly backwoods mod...

You should really consider a double cab. I have three kids and its tight ASF even with a DCLB.

    all good.
yeah, but after putting all this work into mine, it's hard to let it go now. got the new frame, new(er) motor, new shocks now, soon to have new rims. etc.
