Hi I am looking at the prices of both through google searches, and the prices especially of the pumps go from about 30 dollars to about 100 or more.

I do not want to cheap out and buy a piece o chit, but saving money these days is always a priority.

Can anyone recommend a brand of water pump and or timing belt that seemed to have worked well or any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I replaced my stuff 20k miles ago with a NAPA pump and a Gates belt also from napa. Still going strong.

I looked it up in a repair manual at work, and it appears that a 99 taco has a timing chain if it is a 4 cylinder.

Saves me from having to change a belt.
