I wanted to say hello to fellow Tacoma owners. I have been lurking for a little while, but decided to sign-up and talk. I recently bought a '06 Taco 4x4 TRD Off Road. It is my first Tacoma and so far, I am loving it.
    image.jpg
It is an 06 with 67k miles, leather, and Impulse Red

Nice truck! Low miles for an '06, barely broken in yet. 4x4? Welcome to TW! Have a trusted friend or your wife hide your wallet from you, I shudder to think about how much money I've spent on my truck since joining this site 4 months ago. It's fun though and I'm not homeless yet, so...

Nice low mileage score, suggest changing all fluids if it hasn't been done recently, welcome to TW

That was the first thing I did. I know how hard it is on a vehicle to sit and not be driven a lot. I worked as a mechanic for quite some time and saw how time can breakdown the binders in lubricants. This was owned since new by a gentleman that put just a few thousand miles a year on it. It would see very little action while he was deployed.

Thank you, Yeah, sorry forgot to mention it was a 4x4. I kind of take it for granted in my area (mountains of NC). I have already started looking at accessories, leveling kits, and more.

Check out Bilstein 5100s if you want to level the front or lift it.

It spent the majority of it's life garaged and sitting (as sad as that is). I hope to change that and get some use out of it. It is a replacement for a H3 Hummer that I parted with a couple of years ago.

Well the Tacoma has some big shoes to fill but I think it is up for the challenge. My H3 was a beast with e-lockers, 4:1 transfer case 4.10 gears and 5-speed manual. It would crawl, but the Toyota's dependability is second to none, and the reason I picked it.

FWIW here was my H3 (nothing drastic, but it did the job) had 315/70's on it.

Wow, had no idea the H3's came with front/rear lockers and manual trans option...that's actually pretty awesome

It came with a rear e-locker, but the front locker was installed by me. The manual transmission was a rare option and had to be ordered specifically.

Cool truck, man. Yeah, I didn't think the H3 could be had with a manual......that was a dang nice vehicle, but you'll like the capability and reliability of the Toyota. Have yourself a good Friday evening.

Here is photo of a H3 (on a carlot) a year or two older than mine. I looked but didn't have a photo of the interior view that showed the 5-speed. I really liked the manual, but am getting old..lol

That inline-5 was always my issue with the H3. Yours does look tough though. Welcome!
