    5100's all around. Front's set at 1.75" 265/75/16 Duratracs.

I'm 25, 2 years out of college and bought my Tacoma 2 years out of school and have a pretty good retirement fund started already. People need to try harder.

Or some people just get lucky. You can work 3 jobs putting yourself through school and still be barely making it. Easy to judge and tell others to try harder sometimes ;)

Thank you all of you for the compliments and also those of you for the not so complimentary comments. I'm just glad the conversation(s) has remained pretty civil and we haven't resorted to name calling (yet). haha

I wish Toyota kept on improving on the mini-truck. Why I went to Toyota in the first place, after driving/operating huge vehicles all day long,
I wanted something small and zippy for running around when not at work.

I agree with this to a point. I certainly got lucky with my job. I was willing to move 1000 miles with a weeks notice and work for cheap and my boss was willing to take a chance on me. After I got that chance, however, can in no way be attributed to luck. In 4 years I have achieved a level in my profession that I have been told point blank by others isn't possible with my limited experience. I sit here as living proof that it is. It took a lot of hard work, long nights, and several risks to get to my level but i made it.

People start from all different points in life. It's all in what you make of it. I've made a lot of dumb decisions in my life and am fortunate that I am where I am. It did take some luck, but the lion share was blood sweat and tears.

    And that's great for you.

And for me as a full-time student, the taco's a great match for me at this moment.

But later on if I wanted a boat or tow another car, I'd go for a full size truck. Though none of the full sized options are really appealing right now. I've always liked the looks of the 2nd gen silverados. The 3rd gen is just really off putting to me IMO. Same goes for the new F150s, Rams, and Sierras. The Tundra is the only one that I kind of liked.

Here's hoping things will change by the time Im in the market for an upgrade.

Updated photo. Steps, tint, Husky floor mats. Going to work on the bed next (retractable cover, Bedrug, racks, etc).

Your silver Canyon looks great! Have you thought of an Access roll up tonneau for the back?

    Enjoy your new toy.

How about saying "congrats and good luck" instead of bashing the guys new truck? Test drove the GMC 3 times? There must be something about it you like. I've never in my life test drove the same vehicle 3 times. You don't know the OP is going to have the problems you listed. As a daily driver, not going off road, i think he'll be fine with the GMC. OP said he was looking for more luxury. The interior is way more refined and luxurious than the tacoma for sure. To each his own.

I have seen the Colorado, not the Canyon. I haven't driven either. The Canyon pics look good. Nicer interior than my 2008 Taco.
Toyo has always made cheap, hard plastic interiors IMO. They could do much better. GM trucks on the other hand have always had nice interiors.
I love my 08 Taco, dependability is second to none, but Toyota missed the mark on certain little things.
    No bed light for example?

GMC did it right. They didn't reinvent the wheel, they just made the wheel 85% of it's original size for guys that don't need a full size. And ya know what? That's freaking perfect. Job well done to them. Great looking new truck! Congrats!

Even Toyota dosent hide it, my front door cupholders still have plastic chads or extra plastic from the mold hanging on them. Real quality right there.

Don't act like Toyota's first year with the 2nd Gen Tacoma was without faults. Every manufacturer has shit, and it all stinks.

In fact, I recall my 2009 Tacoma (model year 4 years AFTER the 2nd Gen's introduction) coming with a sticker on the door jamb regarding reduced payload. That's real quality right? Rather than fixing the issue, simply putting a sticker on the door jamb informing the driver of the problem....classy ;)

This is exactly my issue. I just couldn't get past it. The grand am interior was outdated when it came out. That is how I feel about the dash layout on the colorado. However, the gmc does look better. It will just cost a bit more. That being said the rest of the option packages and truck design are awesome. I like the step on the bumper. Ability to choose leather seperate and slightly roomier double cab

I've priced out the GMC and Chevy trucks with similar options. The GMC isn't much more. I was pretty surprised.
