My wife was driving home from work when someone rear ended her at a gas station. How bad does my damage look? Any advice appreciated? I have filed a claim at other parties insure.

I’m not a body guy. But that does not look too bad.
    I wouldn’t worry about it.
I’d try to get the piece hanging down off, or secured before it damages the wiring, sensors.
    But that’s your call.

Hopefully your BSM module isn’t damaged. It’s located in the dangling part.

It looks like you have a drivable truck until a body shop can get it in to get fixed on their dime. It could have been a worse day.

Sucks to be in an accident. Hopefully the wifey is okay. Truck is definitely drivable and damage could be a lot worse.

Other party's insurance should cover it. I've been rear ended twice and both times other party's insurance took care of it.

Will be trying to tape it up with some masking tape in the morning. I’m just getting off work so I’m scoping the damage. It appears the bumper took most of the damage, left tail light is done and the rest might be a dent and buff.

I’m hoping the damage is minimal because what I was originally worried about was the back up camera and didn’t even think about the bsm.

I just got off work and saw it in person. It appears it’s the bumper that took most of the damage, tail light is gone and I’m hoping pop a dent and buff.

Either way, not your problem. It's a good body shop's job to get it right and their insurance company to pay the bill. I don't think they have very good luck pulling dents on body lines like that though, and there will probably be some painting involved.

Time to replace it with a aftermarket steel bumper.

I was rear-ended twice in the past 6 months. First time looked just like yours, the second time was the other side without the scratches on the bed side. The first repair was around $2,500. No total on the next. It is sitting in the shop right now. Unfortunately, it takes a long time to get a vehicle repaired. The first repair was just under 3 weeks. I just got my truck into the shop for the next repair. I hope all goes well on the repair.

It might not look like much . Until they start tearing it down it will show the extent of the damage . Also check the area between the cab and bed to see any damage was done . Best of luck . Hope she got the other drivers insurance .

Any recommendations that work with BSM and rear camera?

I'm tending to agree with the previous poster. At least $6,000. Probably going to have to replace the bed skin on that side, then paint pretty much that whole backside of the truck to blend it in. JUST MAKE SURE before they paint it that they remove any bed rails or bed liner, etc. Don't let them just "tape" around all that stuff or you will have issues in a couple of years.
