I high centered my 89 buick station wagon in high school. good times. If I was worried about that I would have probably bought a jeep. But i don't, so I bought the LB and can stuff all surfboards and bikes in it at the same time. pretty stoked on that.

Typical statement by a real "dick" that doesn't know sh!t about senior citizens! I happen to be one and LOVE my SR5 DCSB!

I bought the short bed because I didn't need the long bed and it's longer wheelbase... and because the long bed looks awkward and ugly.

You should have bought the 89 Buick station wagon SB.

I drive a LB everyday in crowded Los Angeles. I park it in the tightest spaces in reverse, I have a narrow driveway and live on a tight narrow street. I'm used to the size and comfortable maneuvering in it.

I feel like I'm derailing this thread, so I will stop now.

That is not true LB are for senior citizens. I am in my forties and I don't consider myself a senior citizen and I hope some day I can call myself a senior citizen. I have a LB and love it. No problem with hauling stuff and doing some light offroading. Also I have no problem in parking in my garage. Please give this some thought smitty. It is an honor in being a senior citizen. Obviously they have done something right to make it that far. I know of many young people who never lived to see their 24 birthday. A lot of them are gone due to something stupid. Long Beds ROCK

Can't sleep in a 5' bed. And not it's so much more work to haul the Mt bike around. You can't deal with 1 extra foot in length?

That's why I am leaning LB. I think I could "settle" for a SB but feel I wouldn't be long regretting it.

Length no issue since I am driving a Silverado Ext cab 6' bed now and drive an F-350 ext cab 8' bed at worl all day.

If you can get over how ugly it is, I'd say get the long bed. :boink:

I was kind of on the fence about the Long bed and the short bed too, but I ended up going with the long bed and I LOVE IT. The short bed makes the truck look tiny. I know it's only a foot difference, but the short beds look.... cute... I guess like when girls say small things look cute... like a small dog or a small lighter. The Long beds make the truck look bigger and looks more proportionate. The SB just reminds me of a frontier or a ranger... they just look tiny and I cannot get over it. There is no doubt in my mind that with a lift and some 285's the LB looks better than the SB any day.

    Exhibit A:

    upload_2017-3-20_19-8-49.jpg

    I REST MY CASE.
