To each his own. But 465 lbls of a torque in a Tacoma gives me an instant boner.

What are you going to do with it?
    The truck, not the boner.

Fairly easy fix. Just go buy another brand. Will be interesting to see how sales are effected with higher prices. Will they remain on top of the mid-size market? Or will people look elsewhere, perhaps move to a full-size.

It’ll be interesting to watch. They already lost one vehicle sale from me because they are fucking around with the next gen 4Runner. That is several years overdue.

Yeah time will tell if they gambled right.

Thought you were holding out for the GX550? I like that and the LC over the 4G Taco, guessing going to pretty much unattainable over the next few years, unless you want to pay through the nose for one.

It is an enticing proposition for sure..........but as I do mostly towing off road with my Taco, its a worry for me with this latest gen.
As others have said, it looks like we will all just have to wait for some real world people to tackle real world stuff like towing with it, so we can see what the mated 4-banger actually will do.

I’m not buying anything until the 4Runner breaks cover. The GX is certainly on my list, but so far only the “starting” MSRP has been disclosed. For the Premium+, it starts at $65,000. I’d like to see street prices for it, and the new Land Cruiser, AND some pics of the 4Runner before I start getting serious. I figure that won’t be until 05/2024.

Hopefully mine will last me another 6 to 7 years, but if I were in the market next year, I would probably look at Ford and Chevy as well.

At another almost $4k, I'm good, it still makes good power compared to 3rd gen and has better payload than hybrid and gets my bike/home depot crap to and from.

If my 3rd Gen is anything like my 1st Gen…should be ready in 25 years to buy another. Probably be dead by then… lol!

Hell I JUST got my 3rd gen 2020 right where I want it accessory/AM wise with the exception of a front bumper (hopefully to be taken care of by SSO next year at some point), a winch and some lighting that I actually have, but am waiting to install until it warms up in the spring.

I think (hope) it will be another 10 years before I decide I need/want another Taco, but also hoping by then the real deal will be determined on the Gen4/hybrids.

I think quite a few people will be rethinking buying a new truck just for the hell of it.

I was so excited for a 465 lb/ft Tacoma and then I saw the prices of non-hybrid TRD's. ~$52k right now on the Toyota search, which means Hybrids are gonna sit right around ~$58k. Not worth it at all
