My 4000EXL is a continuous 33.3 amp rating (4000watt) with a 5500 watt surge. It’s a beast for what it is, and durable. The GN220 engine is a generac built, full pressure lubrication engine with an oil filter. Mine is a year 2000ish circa they were all red back then. It puts my newer inverter units on the shelf when it comes to continuous output. Just a bit noisy by todays standards, great for back up and work site, not so great for camping.
Just re-habbed it with a new muffler, carb, brushes and voltage regulator. Bought an ignition coil, recoil starter assembly, valve cover gaskets and filters as well just to have.

Hey, the Toyota 5.7 is a hoot too but soooo thirsty. My 3.5 is no slouch once it’s spinning but again, one thirsty little guy. Still love it tho.

    Awesome thanks for the info.

Oh yeah love the 5.7 Toyota, but I don’t want to feed it. My 3.5 is more than enough for me, not much in a hurry these days. Of course when I young was always in a hurry, but owned 22RE trucks, couldn’t be in a rush even if you wanted to. Lol! Then there was the ‘73 VW Westy we had for 8 years, it taught you to enjoy the view.

^^^ Ha yes my first was an 88 SR5 Extra cab, 22RE. Young guys on here have no idea what the meaning of underpowered is. I think top speed was around 82 mph running on 31’s. :turtleride:

    Had a ‘85 4Runner and a ‘92 Pickup.

Yeah gotta laugh when they cry about the Thurd Gen being underpowered…yous guys know nothing about underpowered!

22RE on the interstate trying to pass a semi truck, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can….ahhh forget it…” better sticking to back roads anyway. ;)

I bet if the new tundra had the same 10 speed automatic, and paired it with the 5.7 v8 it would get the same if not better fuel economy compared to the turbo 3.5.

Why is it that the big three full size trucks can still have a v8, but toyota can't?

Funny you mention that, because the NA v8s in the other trucks are all the lowest fuel mileage options

While I do like the 4Runner and think it is better built than the Taco, it needs a serious update. Can’t see paying a premium for outdated tech considering what else is available, better off buying a Highlander I think. We used to have a Trooper, now two Tacomas. Kinda miss having a SUV as our second vehicle. Both truck and SUV is a good combo to have in a household, imo.

I got my 2021 Pro because for the price of a "loaded" TRD OR or Sport, it was just 3-4 grand more for a PRO.

If the $57k prices hold for the TRD Sport I could make the same argument of paying a few grand more and just getting a nice full size..... good lord

Why not…better gas mileage, rides better…majority 4Runners are driven by soccer moms, that will never go off-road…highly doubt the even see gravel other than maybe a driveway. Those people would be better served in a Highlander or something of the sorts.

4Runner has become nothing more than a “look a me I am out doorsy’” but not really…I guess sitting on the sidelines in a lawn chair while watching a bunch of snot nosed spoiled brats run around holding their dicks in their hands getting out their pent up preteen angst makes you outdoorsy, guess there is that. :jerkoff: whatevs….

4Runners were great when they a true sports Utility, but that ended all the way back in 1988. Now they are just some weird breasticles thumping status symbol. *yawn* even the new Land Cruiser 250 Prado is lack luster. Give us the fucking 70 Series for cripes sake and quite dragging yer dicks in the dirt Toyota, I mean for fucks sake. Give us something we can use and abuse the absolute shit out of, instead of this water downed piss water nonsense. And here we are arguing over what the best chick truck/suv is, give me a fucking break.

Hey I like 4Runners, but in all reality it is a watered down version of the real thing driven by homogenized suburbanites, that live in Ticky Tack houses. I rarely rarely see dudes driving them, always young mothers or older women trying to look young with perfect hair, botoxed foreheads, faked tits, injected lips…and the latest trend of caterpillars that crawled up on their eyelids. Fucking boring…most likely married to some limp dick Brodozing overlandfuck jackass, it just screams insecurity.

And that is the problem with most of society, can’t be bothered with the in-depth nitty gritty.

Toyota went from a great humble pickup, to over the top bro dozers that just screams what is wrong with the male ego today…gotta show the world how frail their eggshell egos really are.
