    $3K for a roof rack??

Not surprised tho.. 3rd gen Tundra dudes line up to pay $5k for a 3” OEM TRD lift with 1” spacers in the rear.. I don’t understand it.

Also the spray in bed liner is garbage… Offered in the 3rd gen Tundra and it gets warranty replaced often

This spec sheet was from a salesman that I know at a dealership. It even has the name of the dealership at the top of the spec sheet.

Not fake. Sorry. Unless Toyota faked it. Believe or don’t believe, but it is what it is. Do some more “sleuthing”.

Dealers aren’t gonna waste their time making fake V Spec sheets. When I worked for a Ford dealer I’d print off invoices and customers would ask for the real invoice. Like I have time to create a fake one, I preferred transparency. Here’s MSRP, here’s invoice, here’s holdback. You can have all of it. I’m gonna make $900 in stair step money on this and $693 dealer handling profit. If you finance I’m gonna make $1,200 flat from Ford. $2,700 on a $70,000 Super Duty is a fair margin.

This. Ford Mavericks were selling for 10K over MSRP. There are a pool of people out there who need the shiny new toy and will pay for it. How long the initial demand for Tacoma will last is hard to gauge. MSRP is already high. Going below MSRP seems a long way off. I am calling the dealer tomorrow to get my 2024 Tacoma deposit back. Not sure what to buy, but an under MSRP Tundra is looking better and better.

Perhaps this is Toyota’s way of boosting Tundra sales…

Well tell your salesperson friend that his spec sheet is incorrect. Pretty simple to figure that out, lots of lines of evidence that it’s wrong: speaker number on the JBL system (it’s 10 not 6 as is listed), screen size (no premium package taco would get the small base 8” screen, it’s the bigger 14”), roof rack price ($3000?!?!?, wtf yo), and now that I think about it - why da fuq would you put a bed liner on a composite bed taco? That’s just stupid, and any respectable Toyota dealer knows that. Blatent price gouging, or fake

Sleuthing reveals it’s 100% wrong. Pretty simple to figure that out. Not sure where it came from but it’s wrong.
Just wait a few weeks for the official spec info to come out from Toyota and you’ll see. The official ordering info and specs are out for Canadian models already -

For all this arguing about pricing and such - do people not realize that the days of getting a Taco in the $30K range are over? Unless you want a base SR? All vehicles are pricey now, it just is what it is. Toyotas pricing is roughly in line with other midsized trucks. Personally, If I was in the market for a new midsize truck (I’m not), I’d still go with a taco 10/10.
I get it, it sucks, but it is what it is. Stick with your 3rd gen. I paid about $34K out to door for my brand new 2019 TRDOR manual, but I realize I’d never get a new one close to that price again.

If you do some more “sleuthing” over the internet, you will find out this is not off. This argument is ridiculous. The truck is slated to be built December 18. You might need to check these articles out on pricing.

I think they are carving out a price point for a Unibody with a bed maverick competitor to come within the next 3 years.

Dude, read better - I never said anything was off about the pricing listed. Never once. The premium pack is about $8500. That’s accurate. The base TRD sport MSRP is accurate.
Just everything else on your spec sheet is inaccurate, including the specs like speaker count and screen size among other things. Pretty easy to figure out that’s all incorrect. Which makes me doubt the whole thing. If they can’t get basic package specs right….who knows. The pricing seems accurate tho.

Whatever. I am done. This argument is stupid. Believe it, or not. I don’t care. Find me a “real” spec sheet according to you so the “truth” can be shined down on all of us.

That might be kinda sweet. Probably 99% of truck owners would be served fine with a maverick type pickup for Home Depot runs with a hybrid or PHEV powertrain.

Toyotas historically have always been a little higher price for what they are. Buddy of mine makes fun of me since I paid the same for my Taco as he did for his F350.

Have been on the cusp of needing a bigger truck for years, at this point might as well step up to one. Though in all reality can make my ‘21 Taco last for 25+ years…(like I did with my ‘99. ;))

As for the $30K little truck, yep those days are pretty much gone. While they kinda ruined the base by killing the AC, still a pretty good deal for a “basic truck”, what is it $33,500 (w/4WD) or something like that?

Though do believe majority of mid-size truck owners could get by with a CUV and small utility trailer if they absolutely needed a “bed” for hauling stuff. Have a few friends that have Subies and are quite content. Especially with the gas mileage for daily use.

Maverick style trucks don’t make sense to me, but Subaru Foresters and Toyota RAV4s do.

Interesting. No mention of SR grade / extended cab that I saw. :canada:

Probably. There is a prototype floating around.

Either way Toyota wins, as long as buyers keep purchasing their products they are happy.

Remember when Ford killed the Ranger and pushed people into the F150, then years later realized that wasn’t such a good idea, lost sales to Toyota. Now look at them, realizing there is a market for just about every size truck you can think of.

Genuinely curious - why don’t Maverick style trucks make sense to you? Here’s my thoughts on car based min trucks -
Beds are similar sized to a taco for hauling shit. Most people don’t actually off-road their trucks. A hybrid or PHEV truck is a great option for these reasons for most people. Also, it’s a lot easier to haul with a small truck bed vs putting a trail hitch/wiring on a crossover like a Forester or Rav. Just my thoughts.

I think it’s cool Toyota kept the XtraCab. Sucks they did away with the back half doors, but at least they kept that cab style as an option. All other midsizers have done away with it, except the frontier.

Bed is too short for hauling much of anything, personally like toppers, and so do a lot of other people, at that point might as well get a CUV, cargo space is more useful, imo.

Not saying they won’t work for a lot of people, a wagon makes more sense to me.
