C69AB594-CC8F-454B-A5F2-2670B3066606.jpgFirst off let me make clear where I'm living or seeing other tacos. I live in SC but drive through Asheville NC daily. I make a 2 hour drive daily to work and then back 2 hours. I pass A LOT of tacos; mostly 3rd gens but sometimes a 1st or 2nd.

BUT here's the thing. I don't drive my truck to work so I seem like a weirdo when I wave or give a thumbs up to these 3rd gens I see. I commute in a smaller car for milage reasons.

This morning I followed what looked like a 2018 or 2019 TRD-OR DoubleCab. All I know is that he had some sort of roof rack(looked oem) and a mountain bike on a hitch mount and a rear window full of stickers. Looks like he has the MESO taillight mod also.

This is a long shot, but you out there? You got off exit 13 on I-26 around Mars hill area around 5:45 this morning.

I want to just wave without it being weird lol love seeing other tacos out and about, even when I'm not in mine. People do this all the time on other vehicle threads.

I’ve never felt the urge to wave at anyone in another Tacoma. In fact I think it’s weird when they try to wave or make eye contact with me. Just keep driving, I’m not your buddy.

I wave at people all the time. Not your flip the hand up "Hi" kind of wave, but a vigorous animated "I ain't seen you in a long time, how's your Momma and them?" kind of wave. I have great fun with it. Most people will wave back, even though they have no idea who I am.

I especially like doing this to busloads of people. It drives my wife nuts.

So do I think its weird to wave at someone driving a Tacoma? No, I don't.

Not trying to be a dick, but I just think it’s weird. I don’t randomly wave to people I don’t know. I don’t know these other people. I’ll wave to a neighbor or friend or something but not some random stranger. I actually hate having the same brand truck as everyone else. That’s one thing I always liked about having my 1st gen. There wasn’t many around in my area. This is a predominate GM and Ford market. There is a few GM plants and a Ford plant locally. So naturally most people around here who have trucks drive a GM or a Ford truck. However I’m starting to see quite a few Tacoma’s in the area. When I had my F150 I didn’t feel like other F150 owners were eyeing me up as much. Taco owners are kinda strange, like Jeep, Subaru, and VW owners IMO.

I guess it's just the friendly southern culture here. And you're not wrong. A select handful of people with certain vehicle brands tend to wave at others. Jeeps do it like crazy here. When I had my Subaru, it was looked down upon if you didn't wave lol

    Wow, what is that like?????

Not up this way, this is why you see some of the responses you do. Definitely a different culture the further north you go on the East coast.

Can't tell if sarcasm or what lol but everyone knows the south is, as a whole, quite a bit friendlier.
