Yes, we all know and Toyota well knew it.
Average IQ engineers would have put a better powertrain to compensate that so the resulting performance would be at least equal or better than that of previous models.

It literally has more horsepower :annoyed: and yet they hide it somewhere you have to go looking for....

    Same with torque.

Tundra will definetly give you more power. BUt you will still have the 15% decrease. I'd say find a used Tundra and install a supercharger. Remember, Turbos and Superchargers doesnt get effected from higher altitudes.

Let me correct myself, They are effected but not by power loss. They will work harder to reach boost yes but you will still maintain power. There might be some power loss but it will be minimal ~1

that doesn't quite make sense, thinner air, less air in the combustion chamber, smaller boom =less power. that's why you cool the air, to make it denser, to fit more in the chamber.

Not necessarily. The higher the altitude the thinner the air yes. Because of this, (modern turbo chargers/super chargers) have the ability to adjust RPM. As the air gets denser, the RPM will increase to compensate for the decreased air. This will allow for the TC/SC to reach its boost but at the cost of higher RPM's and higher temps. The way manufacturers design them now is to take account for the different areas and conditions people drive in. Desert, Freezing, Mountains etc. So the TC/SC will adjust to make its boost even though it could be working 3, 4 or even 5 times harder. Say if your going up Ike's Gauntlet in Colorado with a TC/SC, the higher you go the more your TC/SC will work hard to maintain its boost. But you will experience minimal power loss compared to Gasoline engines.

Ok, so this is the same engine in the GS 350 correct? and it makes 311hp NA so why not just tune this to their specs?

    SAE Net Horsepower @ RPM 311 @ 6400
    SAE Net Torque @ RPM 280 @ 4800
    and its heavier 4960# Gvwr
    3.73 gears.

They are just retarding our engine. More HP and torque is possible from this platform.

We need a tune. I have been waiting for a super/turbo option but I think we have so much room for improvement with our engine.

Is it the same engine? Might have the same architecture, but it might have a different cam and therefore a different power curve.... maybe higher than it already is.

Well, yes. At least the stuff you affected by changing the program if the change causes a failure.

I think I read that the "K" in the engine code stands for the atkinson engine but they are the same platform. They just retard the compression during that cycle to reduce the amount of fuel used on the up stroke, or something like that. But what ever the case this engine has more to offer than this very gutless tune they provided.
