Iffin I had some extra coin layin around and some free time to waste it'd be worth it to get one of these autos, let it fail, fuck with them about it, take it back, make them eat it and give me a new manual version of the same truck with all the extra cheese warranty and features and schwag I could possibly squeeze out of them, promise them a stellar rating survey & give them the opposite...........from a known shady fuckface dealership (which shouldn't be hard to find)

Doubt all you want. I have 1400 miles on it. Had it in the dealer at 720 to check fluid. I shared with you what I was offered. Take it or leave it. It doesn't change my life.

That's exactly why I made a counter offer. I still want and need the truck. If something goes wrong within the next 8 years/100k, I get free towing, rental, anything and everything fixed. It sounds like a deal to me.

I'm not sure who made you the expert? No dealer will... No manufacturer installs...

Yes they did. They were not joking. If I did get a refund then I'm back looking for a new truck. What would I buy? I didn't like anything else except the Tacoma. I don't care for the 2015 and older look. The truck still runs pretty good for the most part. Putting it in S5 makes a big difference. I know Toyota will have to deal with this at some point and now I got a great warranty at no cost. 8 yrs/100k is a long time.

Haha you guys kill me. The dealer wouldn't be the one to buy it back anyway. It would be Toyota, the dealer is just a franchisee.

I honestly thought it was common knowledge that warranty repairs on major components are sometimes done with refurbished parts. It seems many people don't know this. The auto industry is not the only place this happens, it is very common with electronics as well.

I also don't know why it seems to make a difference to people. Everyone wants new, new, new when it was a truly new part that failed in the first place....

Once you drive it off the lot it's no longer new

A major component failed right out of the gate. Especially after seeing all of the reports on other transmission issues.

Sometimes I like to be an early adopter, but not with a $35-40,000 vehicle. I would not have purchased the truck to start with, but a major fail and loss of confidence would have had me jumping on a refund.

Good luck. I hope you have good karma and no further issues.

Techs don't get paid much to add fluid, if it's even billable labor hours,

Now R&R a trans and someone is getting paid there.

I worked for a dealer for 16 years, I learned a thing or two, it's sad sometimes but very true.

I've owned two Ford Windstars. Both had major tranny problems. My 2000 Windstar trans was replaced at 45k and again at 60k. I'm now at 180k on the 3rd trans.

I know what you're saying, I'm talking about Toyota Corporate saving money. They know it's an issue, so why not correct it before more people have serious transmission issues
