    He'll have to trim the hell out of his fender wells, space the wheels, and it would be a GOOD idea to extend the bumpstops a little...otherwise he'll rub like crazy.

    Ya if I were you Sean I would go with a 295/70/17 for sure will not rub with that but to each there own I judged did not want to trim anything and not worry about rubbing at all!:cool:

    Im doubting I'd rub as much as Steve said he rubs with those huge meats (315s I believe) he has on his with his 6in lift.
    4wheel parts seems to think my rubbing will be pretty minimal (trim plastic only) with 305/65 with 4.5in backspacing rims.

    Ive thought about the 295/70 size before but heres what i found.
    Tire calculator between 305/65 and 295/70:

    295 = +.32 sidewall height
    295 = +.65 overall diameter

    295 = -0.4 width

    Im sure Id rub more with a tire that has more overall diameter.
    Although not sure how much less Id rub by shaving .4in off the width.

    Congrats Sean!! That's a hell of a win!!! :cheers:

    I would be careful about the 305's.. I think you will have to trim a lot more than you think.. Yeah I have 315's on a 6" lift and still rub at full turn.. Some trimming was already done but i need to trim more to make it stop.. Just throwing it out there.

    I just used the tire calculator here on TW and it said that a 305 was like 33.8", Thats basically a 34" tire on a 3" lift. :eek:

    What tires are you thinking?

    285 is what most guys run on a 3 inch lift right!? Just don't get the flamer tires! Lol:eek:

    Sean maybe on to something though... I just reread his post and he is going 305/65/17.. Not 305/70/17.. He should be able to squeeze those puppies under his truck..

    Yea 305/65s....not many tires come in a 65 but the KM2s do and i like that sort of tread pattern (if i dont fold and just go with a AT tire).

    And if I dont go with 305/65 it will be because of my concern for all the extra width/weight killing my acceleration (and maybe even causing some bump-steer with that much footprint up front...?)

    If there were 295s that came in a 65 then id be all set!!!! :(

    And whats a flamer tire???
