    same shit as everyone else
The I-4 has less moving parts and will be easier to work on so I voted for it. But you will never see me driving it. I love my v6

Sorry pal, max towing capacity 2011 V6 tow package 4X4 DCSB is 6400 LBS.
Dont make the mistake of confusing this with the GCWR. They are two different things.

That is the GCWR number. NOT the max towing capacity.
The max towing capacity for the I4 is 3500 LBS
    Read your owners manual.

What year? I dont think any year Tacoma ever had a MAX TOWING CAPACITY over 6500 LBS. GCWR with V6 and tow pkg is 11,100 LBS. However, max towing cap is 6400 LBS

why does that matter when it comes to dependability? it wasn't meant to two 6500 lbs...and yes it could. it wouldn't be fast, at all, but it could.

is 6400 lbs a revised tow capacity? because my dad's 06 w/ towing package is rated at 6500 lbs.

My 2011 factory sales literature states max tow cap as 6400 lbs for the V6 tow pkg DCSB. I believe the OM states the same. It also states the V6 tow pkg DCLB as 6300 lbs.

For that dumb comment.....lets see the 4.0 tow 11000 lb. your comment is invalid. So for you , back to the topic.... durability....not power. Read the thread title. If I wanted to pull 6500 lb...or 11k for that matter , i woulda kept my diesel.

please keep up with the rest who are on topic.

the 09 + trucks have a heavier curb weight due to all the added airbags n crap so i'm thinking it's just a revised tow rating

I've had the 3.4 V6 automatic and now I have the 2.7L 4 cylinder manual and I love both motors.
The manual helps with the 2.7 for sure. It gives you options on situations that an automatic may struggle in (Hills).

The 2.7 gets about 3-4 mpg better in town than my v6 did.
Haven't had any problems with either. Both are great!

My guess would be the DCLB is a heavier truck, therefore to keep the GCWR at 11,100 lbs it can only have a max tow of 6300......just a guess. Not sure.
