Need help, tried cleaning my throttle body and IAC the other day, couldn’t get it off.
    1) how do you get the bolt off closest to the cab? There is a metal piece blocking it.
    2) how do you remove the lines? I was afraid to pull on them too much because of breaking them.
Essentially, how do you remove the throttle body?

With regards the stuck vacuum lines, this is very common for rubber lines. You have to be twist while you pull. Also, what I do is insert a dental pick, or in this case a VERY small flat blade screwdriver if you have no picks, and run it around the circumference of the line as much as I can, again while twisting and applying tension.

On some of them, you may have better luck (more finger/hand space) taking them loose at the other end. Or, you can split about 50% of what is over the spru (TB fitting) and then cut off that section after you get it loose. You may want to replace it, or add a clamp after you shorten it.

My setup is a little different but I didn't remove any of the intake, just the adapter in between the TB and intake. I used some pliers to twist the little vacuum hoses loose then pulled them by hand. It's the connecting hoses under the TB on the IAC that are a pain depending on the clamps being used. Also have hose plugs on the ready cause they will leak coolant.

The problem I’m trying to fix is the truck idling high (2000 rpms), I assume replacing the IAC will get this done, I don’t see any vaccume leaks, anyone have any input?

I did this on my truck too w 235k, cleaned the TB, and removed and cleaned the IAC man what a difference, and while i was there also found my egr/egr heater to be cloged up w gunk.

World of a difference, my cel still hasnt come back on after a full tank of gas, and a very easy fix, i did remove the egr to do this we well.

If you have a gap between the butterfly and the inside wall that might be your problem when closed

take of the TB and inspect it, remove the IAC clean and lube it (carefull w the gaskets) it could just be carbon build up causing this.

My check engine light is on for IAC, just cleaning it should make it go away and fix the idle? Clean with throttle body cleaner?

Sorry for not responding! Got everything off, it’s easy once you figure it out. Replaced my IAC, cleaned the throttle body, and replaced the gaskets. Wouldn’t beileve how much better it runs and idles now!

    Mines still at the stealership.
They are claiming it's an ignition coil.
I'm calling bs on that one.
    Should be done tomorrow.

What is this "dizzy" that you spoke of a few times. I've ran across that term like 5 times reading up on my issue.

    And also "IAC"? idler control?

If after driving long distances or hard shorter distances the idle becomes irregular or high when I slow or idle. It’s fine during short distances and after sitting. In my 2002 2.7l tac, is the IAC valve wearing out, or is it something else?
