I guess it's about time for a build thread. Not that it's all that great compared to many others but it works well for what I like to do with is mostly overland travel with some real wheeling on occasion.

The truck was purchased in August of 2009. It's a 2009 DCSB. It had the DSI lift package installed but that wasn't something I was really interested in and was able to negotiate that out of the price. I just liked the color (Timberland Mica). I added the shell after a few months.

As it sits today. It's been to the Sierra for multiple trips. Mono Lake., Bodie & Masonic Ghost Towns. California Coast, etc.

    NICE!!!

I love it as it appears modified but nothing over the top. It looks like the perfect all around over land rig.

Finally! I remember looking for your build after Hollister a while back. Very, very clean truck and I enjoyed the relaxed bit of wheeling we did together out there.

Thanks all for the kind words. I added a few more pictures-none build related tho-nothing really unique in that regard.

It's my only vehicle. You definitely know it's there but really can't say anything negative about it. It does require a different care and feeding (oil and friction lube) but unless you go to a lube joint, not that big a deal.

Hey Ian, what did you do to ground your cb antenna with the hood mount? My mom and I are installing basically the same setup in her 2nd gen but I'm not sure if the hood hinge is grounded or not. If it is, did you sand through paint to ground it or did you just run a grounding wire to the battery ground?
    Thanks!

If the bolt is raw steel, it should be OK ground. What I'm using is a no ground plane antenna. Slightly different setup but works great!

Ok cool, thanks! Yeah I ended up searching a little more and finding BensonX's writeup on his cb install with the relentless hood mount and from the pictures it looks like he just uses the mount to ground, no extra wires.

Out of curiosity, why did you go with no ground plane?
