NAPA. Going to run these just to get the truck going. Eventually upgrade to some fancier ones.

So last night we brought it over to the welder. Super nice guy and let us come in after hours. He's real excited about the project too. He does all sorts of fab work and has raced in Dirt Riot and King of the Hammers. So it's really awesome having somebody so knowledgeable nearby. I tell ya, really nice to have a heated shop in single digit weather haha. We pulled apart the front end, he welded on my coil bucket gussets, we painted, then put it all back together in three hours. We're pooped haha. Cool part too is I finally ripped the wrapping off! He told me I wasn't allowed to leave the shop with it still on

This might be a stupid question but, may I ask why? Suspension have so much up travel it might hit it? Something regarding the motor you hydro locked back in the day?

Mud terrains are water scoops. And with the fendor aprons removed and extended arms, it funnels right into the intake. Yes, hydrolocked my engine because of it.

Good to know. I have no fender aprons because of the firewall tub and 35's, obviously don't have the width she has though. I was thinking about extending the intake up towards the fender a bit just so it's not facing outwards and fully open.

Thanks! Yeah that was my first thought when I pulled the fenders off that it needed to go. What kind of filter did you run?

And since I have you here, did you mount your rear shackles above or below the frame?

I ran quite a few different filters. Honestly the OE Toyota paper filter worked the best.

I had 12" shackles above the frame.

    Thanks!

Haha! We've been doing little thing here and there, nothing worthy of a big update. One of the tires was still kind of toed out so dad fixed that today while I worked inside. I got my steering wheel replaced finally! :D I was going to live with it because eventually I'm going to replace it anyway with an aftermarket one, but I found one in the junkyard that was nice. Got it out of a base model and just had to switch over my cruise control onto it. So much better though lol.

    image.jpg

You can also watch me be awkward in my update vid  More or less an overview of previous stuff since I have people following there as well.
