Ice Horse's 1998 Tacoma Long Travel/Hybrid Project

Have you seen MCM's kit? It looks beefier than anything else I've seen and it's about $1,000 cheaper than TC. I think it's made for more trail oriented wheeling so it might be right up your alley. If I can ever afford LT I plan to use theirs. Good luck with the build, love seeing 4x4 LT!

What are you going to do for armor? Might I recommend Relentless Fabrication. ;-)

 

what are you using to do that? is that the ridestyler thing?

 

I did it at Les Schwab Tires. In the store. They used to have it on their website too but I'm not seeing it.

 

Got most of my front end shipped in. A few various clips we had to wait for from Toyota (I'm glad they are only a couple blocks away lol).

Opened up our own body shop business to attempt to pull out and straighten some of the radiator support.



After playing with it for 30 minutes it was still kind of ugly. Then I discovered rock auto sells new ones for $50 so ordered that and it should be in Friday. So now I have to take everything off the front again. Lol

 

What ever happened to your other Tacoma?

I may have ordered some fiberglass fenders and bedsides

 

Saw the sprinkle pattern on the fenders before,brothers Tacoma has it from sand hitting the paint for an extended time.

 

Weird. Only thing about this is that it's on the entire cab, but the bed is fine.

 

His is on the cab also never fixed just left it like that.Has never gotten worse.

You doing a front end swap or something?

 

Nah, same front end. Previous owner scraped into a wall turning into the driveway and bent things up pretty good. You can see how that center support is bent in that last pic. It's not horrible but enough to bug me. Hard to tell initially because he duct taped, zip ties, and epoxied everything back together. We tried pulling the metal back out (see post with chain lol) but it's still ugly. Fiberglass is hard enough to fit when everything's straight, let alone bent lol. So found a new support on rock auto and just going to put that in.
