Were they brand new or used? Anybody else have any issues with the clamp clearing the fuel tank mount? Ordering this today so would like to know

    brand new.

Apparently ICON has since revised the design. There is a user on here that doesn't have those issues. He also did not have to cut a factory clamp. I called and spoke to ICON as well and they confirmed they did revise the design after hearing from a few people they were having that problem

So I was thinking of using the longer travel 5100's with this AAL because I guess the standard 5100's I am being told won't work if I decide to leave the overload in? What are people running for shocks with these AAL's

I'm using Icon 2.0 rear shocks with their AAL and factory overload in. Works great.

Yeah, this was kind of a do-over for me. Started with the OR 2-leaf pack with just the AAL. Sagged and broke a pack clamp in a year. Icon replaced the one AAL under warranty. Bought a factory 3-leaf pack from a local member, put the new AAL on the drivers side, transferred the old AAL to the new-to-me pack, added the overloads, good to go.
If you use the overloads, be prepared to cut the forward clamps off them at installation.
The only thing left from the original install is the shocks. :)
Here is an assembled picture showing the cut overload clamps.

I am thinking I might be taking the overload out as it might make my rear higher that the front that will be the full 3 inches. Yes or no

Overload will make it a bit stiffer and 1/2" taller, for a total of 2". Having had it both ways, recommend with overload.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I thought with the overload out you would get less lift, not more.

Sorry if unclear above. With factory overload in you will have 1/2" more lift.

So if I am going with OME 887's in the front at a full 3 inches. Do you think I should leave the overload in or out? Want it level with basically no rake

To give you a more technical answer than "they're shit" which they are, a block acts like lever or fulcrum on your rear driveline while accelerating or braking causing what's called axle wrap. This in turn puts a lot of stress on your ujoints, carrier bearing, pinion bearing, springs, ubolts and down the line.

When you installed the aal is there a certain way to attach the leafs back to the axle to make sure you don’t throw your real axle out of alignment?

Yes, I too am curious if I need to do anything to prevent causing other issues down the road for me (vibrating/etc). Also will I be able to use my factory shocks with the AAL installed if I keep the OL in? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

2" lift. Bilstein 6112 in front 5160 in rear. Icon 1.5" AAL.
I used the Icon AAL with Bilstein 5160's and only got an inch of lift. I'm wondering if it's because I have the long bed and it's a bit heavier. If it settles much, I'll need to add the overload back in just to keep it level with the front. The front has Bilstein 6112's at the 2" of lift setting.

Do you think the spring clip rivets will hit the overload when hauling a heavy load and damage the leaf? Has anyone had this issue?

Did you ever get this answered? The AAL comes with a longer center pin for the leaf pack. You clamp your existing pack together, then remove the center pin and nut. Put the AAL under the existing leaves, the. Insert the new, longer pin and nut. The result is the same centering pin head that drops in the same hole on your axle leaf spring mount and everything lines up fine.

Fyi, I plan on going kings since I have kings in the front bit if i can use the stock with this aal while I save some more cash then id like to do that, all info is appreciate it, thanks!
