    UPDATE:

Removed and shipped the shock to Icon July 15th to ensure it was there by Monday July 20th. Rebuilds or service take place on Tuesdays I believe. Hadn't heard anything from Icon, until I got an FedEx shipment notification July 21st! Received my repaired shock yesterday, July 22! I couldn't be happier. That was some prompt service. Respect!!

    ICON, YOU GUYS FUCKING RULE!!!

*This is not a thread bashing or putting Icon on blast by any means.

Although I'm disappointed, and a bit salty, that this happened to a system that's about a year old and has been off paved-road 3 times. I get it, shit happens. But of all the other suspension systems on the trail that day, the only guy with Icon has the problem.

I simply want to document the process of having a failure repaired by a local company, because it may be helpful to other TW members. I hope it goes well.

(kinda) Short version of the story:
A group of about 14 trucks from TW went on a run to Hungry Valley for a day of trails, hanging out and grillin hot dogs. It was an awesome trip and only my 3rd time hitting trails. The whole convoy was hitting the trails on and off all day. Fast forward to the end of the day, truck entirely covered in dust.

That's when I notice the driver's rear wheel well looks wet. Upon further inspection, the entire wheel well is coated in fluid and a drip is forming on the tube that connects the shock to the reservoir. After pushing down the on the bed without much effort, a sucking sound comes from the shock and you can clearly see the fluid spitting out of the joint that connects the threaded piece of the hose to the shock body. Parties over. Luckily it was the end of the day anyway. Drove it back to LA on the freeway without any issue.

Contacted Icon on the phone, told the guy the situation and was curious if this may be covered under a warranty or something. He advised that I would need to send the shock in and have it looked at to see if it would be covered or I have to pay to have it repaired. He then tells me to fill out the shock service form on the support page of their website. Received an email with the service case number.

Shipping will probably be expensive, so hoping to waste $40 in gas to drop it off in Riverside.

Also, huge thanks to the TW members that are letting me borrow some Bilsteins AND helping me remove and install.

Interesting. At least it looks like a relatively simple repair - just replace the hose and refill, recharge the system.

That sucks. Unfortunately, that is one of things that can happen to hydro lines. Could have been stressed or hit when on the trail. Hope all goes well in the repair.

I was watching that Yukon Overland video the other day. They blew out a rear ICON shock as well. If memory serves it was almost the same problem. Something to do with the reservoir. Do I see a trend perhaps?! Sorry about your bad luck but its good to here some bros had your back!

Only the $14 to ship to Riverside. Maybe covered under warranty?
