Oh, i have a 95lb rear bumper, a 40 lb topper, and a 30lb bed mat, a 10lb bed extender, and probably 10lbs of miscellaneous items (maybe less)

so all in all ~180 lbs?

I got to thinking, almost a duh moment lol but those extra springs have to add some amount of lift! I still feel like leaving that bottom OL out is what I'm going to try first.

I agree, might as well. And that’s what I did. I wanted to get more then 1.5” so I left it in for nearly 2” with the hopes that if it settles/sags it’ll work it’s way down to near 1.5” at the very least.

    I appreciate your contributions
And sharing thoughts and photos. When I get the springs and shocks mounted I'll give a update. And I'll also see about a solution or what to do with that e-brake clip the OP was questioning.

Appreciate like minds coming together to create greatness. FYI with the two options: overload on/off and the brake line support.... the brake line bolts to the
overload bracket so if the overload is left on, the brake line mount just stays in original position. If the overload is removed I’ve seen two options for that, one owner just left his second brake line mount off. The other guy took the original bracket and bent it while twisting it from flat to a 90’ angle and then attached it to the new AAL bracket.

I installed my Icon 1.5” lift add a leaf kit today. Please note that my findings and experience was very different than some of the other posts above. Perhaps they had a different year vehicle, different model such as a Pro, 4x4, or were installing single leafs etc.??? So let me start by saying that this install was for an Icon 1.5” lift AAL on a 2020 TRD Sport. Save yourself a few bike rides to the auto parts store before you begin by getting- 19mm & 22mm deep sockets, 2 C-clamps, cutting wheels for rivets, eye protection. I chose to keep my overload springs on for now and mount the AAL kit between the overload and the existing springs. The AAL kit adds three more leafs. Before you can slide the kit on, one of the existing rear leaf brackets has to be removed by cutting the spring clip and rivet off. I went thru one cutting wheel per each of four rivets. My air compressor isn’t huge so that extended cutting time. By keeping the overload springs I also had to remove the front overload spring clip and rivet. This was the most time consuming part of the entire install. Once everything was in place on the leafs, the leaf bolt needs to be trimmed to fit the bump stops. I installed the brake line bracket onto the front AAL bracket by drilling the bracket hole larger, and then bending it into a better position. A note on HEIGHT everyone keeps asking about: I removed my previous 2” lift block and replaced it with the 1.5” AAL and the overload spring. My finished height is exactly the same hub to fender and ground to fender as it was before with the 2” lift block. Safe to say without the overload spring it would give the 1.5” lift as the kit states. I do not have extra weight/bumpers/etc in my rear. There you have it... stock up on cuss words before you get started, the rivets are a beotch.

Not sure why you had to cut that. Here’s what it looks like if you leave it on. Just make sure you have the spring facing the right direction and it should fit. I did notice that you have a TRD Sport so maybe that’s the difference.

And this is what the truck came out like when done. Once I load my gear in the back it sits level.

I printed instructions this morning and tech notes mention some leaf packs may have to remove the factory spring clip.

I didn’t take a pic of the rear clip that was in the way but it’s the same as the scenario with the clip on the overload spring which I reinstalled (after cutting off the clip) as seen in this image. The clips would overlap and that’s not gonna work.

I took a better look at your pics and compared to mine. Yes our leafs appear to be the same. On the AAL and leafs above, you can see the gap between your new AAL leaf and your existing leafs. This is because there is a 1/4” rivet in between the old leafs and the new installed leafs. Not sure that’s bad but I opted to avoid the gap by removing the rivet (and clip).

On the overload brackets, the new clips are in the way of the old ones for sure so they had to go.

Now I'm fretting about the cutting and grinding. I have plenty of right angle grinders and cutting wheels. The worrisome part is sparks and metal particles lol. I'll just have to be careful and wash good immediately after. I once sharpened 3 lawnmower blades near my car (white) and it was like rail dust in the worst imaginable way!

Nah if you wear long sleeve clothing sparks won’t do much to you (burn you) and it’s not a big deal. Wear a mask or do it In well ventilated area tho.

:rofl:it's not me I'm worried about. I've cut what feels like miles of conveyor out overhead and burned through many a cut off wheel. It's my pretty white truck I'm concerned about. :crapstorm:

I'm sure that I can cabbage onto a decent piece of fire blanket from work and set it for some spark and grinding containment. Plus I'm going to open that spring box up tomorrow and take a few measurements. I'm most like going to make a couple of shims to go on the bottom side where some leave the factory overload. Not positive I'll use it but just to have the option. Thanks for the eye protection tip. I don't believe I have a clear face shield or goggles. Just regular safety glasses. Oh, and a hot chip off the lathe or milling machine much hotter than any spark I've encountered.
