About 3 weeks ago I had the Icon stage 3 kit put In. Its front coilovers, tubular uca's, rear shocks with reservoir and icons add a leaf (3 leaf pack) it drives great on nice roads but bumpy and pitted roads like the ones here in Brooklyn as well as the unpaved rutted, rocky roads and trails i like driving on weekends are fucking unbearable and I went from loving to drive for hours to dreading my morning commute. I'm not being a pussy either, I'm actually in pain, my neck is messed up and my ass and back are sore. I'm gonna post a picture of the rear leafs. What the fuck is going on here

Could it be the shock tuning? That’s a big factor in how the truck reacts to sudden hits.

Sorry to break it to you OP, but the combo you picked firms up the ride over the stock bilstein suspension on the off road.

The leaf packs seam to stiffen it up a little, Im trying an experiment with my dakars, removed my overload and put in the AAL... A little bouncy empty but glass smooth with passengers and gear. But I have not herd any complains with the stock leafs.

It may be the shocks, Icons use digressive valving. that means they are much stiffer on small bumps like a sport shock. So it's going to feel like a sports car.
Fox and kings are linear and soft over small bumps and get stiffer with more travel.

In fact foxs come way to soft and ride like a Cadillac, but are too soft off road and have to be revalved. Even after revalving my foxes are still good on the street.
You may have the opposite, too stiff and need to be revalved softer or more linear...

I can handle firm, this isn't it. 200+lbs in the bed and tires aired to 32 psi didn't do anything. ill be cruising down the highway with not a single defect in the road to be seen then all of a sudden the rear end smashes into something like I just ran over a body and I have a compression fracture in my neck. meanwhile I feel nothing in the front. quite an improvement...

You aren't alone. My 3 leaf pack KILLS me on the main road I live off of that has been cut up with road work. I'll be replacing this pack as soon as the funds roll in.

On the positive side. This pack loves having weight in the bed when out in the dirt. It was a big improvement over the stock setup in the dirt. To have the best of both worlds, you need to look into the more expensive options.

BTW my 3 leaf pack is paired with 5100's

I have Icon coilovers 700# front (stock front) and Icon RXT full pack in the back. Drives like a cart and like it. Icons are digressive shocks which means STIFF first and soft after compared to progressive shocks that are soft first and stiff(er) as you drive.
On bumpy roads is rough but again, I don't drive on rough roads.
I lived in NYC/Queens for 12 years and know the roads. MOVE from that place.

That sucks man. I also have a 3 leaf AAL (head strong) with over load left in and my rear feels just fine. A tiny bit firmer but handles bumps much better.

From the pics, yours looks to be installed issue free. The only thing I can think off is the valving on the rear shocks. The way you describe the “dampning” is very extreme. You dont even have your over load. Makes no sense to me.

    I think it’s your shocks.

For what it’s worth, I have Bilstein 5100 in the rear and really like them. I found the ride less harsh than with the stock OR billsteins, but at the same time less wallowy.

They are a relatively inexpensive shock. You could buy a set and if you like them, sell your icons. You might be really happy with them.

    Just a thought.

I got the Icon stage 2 kit (stock UCA's), 285/70/17 KO2 which seems to be close to your setup and I love the hell out of my overall ride quality, much improved over stock (sport) suspension. Downtown Portland has some shitty roads with manhole covers and God damn access plates in the roadway seemingly every 20 feet. I mean, it is a little bit of a shaky ride into work but nothing like you describe.
