Mr 2x4 was the one on the other end of the phone when I was installing mine. Maybe he is the one that told me

Either way I have barely any axle wrap and I'm always playing in deep sand (the ultimate axle wrap condition)

FYI I just measured mine. It's 13" from the axel to the end of the top aal front and rear! Same both ways with Deaver. About 1.25" from the clamps on both ends of TSB springs. It all seems pretty symmetrical here? Funny I just noticed some rust on the rear of the aal like maybe they cut some off but the pad is right where it should be? interesting

I thought Dan (Wheelers) said there should be a long side and short side with the Deaver kit?

Maybe Deaver gave you a kit that actually kits the truck without modification since you bought direct from them?

could be. Pretty much everything they do is custom but he pulled them out of a rack and there were several others there.

Like I mentioned 1st gen springs are center pin offset (longer springs to rear /shorter to front) The 2nd gen leaf packs I've rebuilt are center pin config'd with eyelett to center pin being equal distance/length whether front to center or back to center measurements the same, & its been my experience so far that adding just about any extra springs will eliminate axle wrap...

Don't blame the messenger. If you had fed me lunch, I might have been slightly clearer of mind and ignored Chris.

Not at all - the opposite actually. I just found it funny today that after almost 30k and countless times offroad I find out it's technically backwards.

Never had one single issue :)

Cool! :) Its something Ive been fucking around with for a while. It started when I accidently installed a set backwards, and I was driving along and thought..."Hey...this rides nice!.....And I dont have that dam thump anymore!!"....and went from there

Hey, in my defense, I did at least give you credit for the idea of turning the AAL around to reduce axle wrap.

So on a more serious note, does spinning the AAL around actually make a significant improvement on axle wrap? In my head, I can make a case for it helping and it making absolutely no difference. :notsure:

Should we all agree to not take Chris' advice on matters of mechanical nature?

nah....nothing bad came out of it and I can't even be sure why we put it long forward.

I just remember "white letters up front"
