has anyone had any experience with the icons? i got them in my truck, have had them for about a year now and kinda wanted to ditch em for something a little softer. i tried dropping em down an inch from the 3" i had them at and they wouldnt clear the 33's. ive been thinking about the total chaos long travel kit later on but i still gotta talk the wife into it, between that or a boob job :p and im leanin towards the lift hahaha

if your going to go LT, then wait until till you pull the trigger. no icons here but why waste the money for new coilovers when your gonna go LT

also look into having the Icons recharged if they are running low...

i ran the Donahoes for a few years and recharged them when they got stiff... helped the ride significantly enough until i went Long Travel...

well they have always been stiff to me, but ive never experienced any other lifted tacos, so i dont know if its really stiff or if im just being picky, and yea i wasnt planning on doing anything till i decide weather or not im goin LT. there fine if im pushing the truck like small jumps or whoops, only done a few times, but driving on a dirt road will rattle youre teeth out.

I've had my Donahoe 2.5 coilovers for about 30K miles now. Wondering how long I should go between recharging. How long did you go between recharging? Thanks

After you you decide to throw that LT kit on your truck the ride may not be as you expected it to be.

What does that mean? I was also thinking about going LT if I can find a used kit.

He is looking for a soft ride. My long travel kit isn't very smooth. When i hit bumps it's stiff as hell.

EDIT: A good place to find used LT kit would be dezertrangers.com or TTORA.com.

Could you get a softer spring to make the ride softer? I spend about 70% of my offroading crawling in the rocks so i would like it to be pretty soft.

Thanks, I was all set up to buy a kit on ttora. Then the guy backed out and stopped answering my PMs. Gues he decided not to sell it anymore.

that sounds like it would work but with a softer spring it would set me back to about stock hieghth or close to it. i can adjust them down and get a softer ride but with that i loose clearance and my tires rub like a mad man with almost every turn. i thought of lowering them down as soft, and low, as i could go and throw in a spacer lift but for some reaon that just doesnt seem like a smart thing to do. anyone ever tried an aftermarket coilover with a spacer lift

Cut and pound if you dont want them to rub. Its not that bad. I used 5lb sledgehammer and it did the trick.

Yeah, I know Cole. He actually is the one who got me a discount on the long travel kit. We had the exact same setup out front, Icon CO's and burg LT kit. Last I heard is want to go with a custom long travel kit.

Yea he was getting a custom kit made and selling the burg kit to help fund it. Then he just stopped answering:confused: Do you mind me asking what you got the kit for? They gave me a price and I was just wanting to compare.

Spacer lift is not good for wheeling... Why don't you go with some bilstein 5100's front and rear?

Thats a good price. If I ever get a kit, I will. Im debating whether to get a crawl box or LT for my next big purchase.
