I have been trying to figure out how to get the Icon Nipple Adapter to fit on the grease gun:

    How do I get this:
    https://www.iconvehicledynamics.com/accessory/14812/icon-accessories-nipple-greasing-adapter-kit/

    To fit on this:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FNCMLTB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

This is all the parts. The nipple adapter has a piece inside the head as well:
    https://photos.app.goo.gl/iSpbcy7rGwsubbDz7

I tried a number of different ways to get it to fit.

What I did find is that I can connect the black piece directly into the backend of the needle. It does not seem right as if the grease will come through the piece and back up.

I am just trying to get this right the first time.

Is the inside of the adapter threaded?

It is not. Inside on the adapter you can connect the black piece to it.

This may be the proper way to do it but I wonder why there is a spring and another piece.

Also I believe you can put a standard grease fitting on their delta ball joint if a remember correctly

I will give them a call on Monday to find out but would rather get this $50 adapter to work.

Looks to me like the spring loaded sleeve is to give the connection some support. Try the other sleeve to see if it fits around your guns standard grease head tighter.

I don't think you can put a standard nipple fitting on the joint due to the billet cap that covers it.

The extra sleeve is for larger size grease gun couplers.... unscrew the zerk on the needle adapter and remove small sleeve... replace with larger one if needed. Your correct... your black coupler on end of the hose attaches to the needle adapter zerk. Not sure of the spring purpose... some needle adapters don't have it.... guess it just keeps the sleeve from sliding down the shaft or to give the connection some support like gdr mentioned. You can always just replace the needle zerk on the uca with a regular one.. the billet cap will no longer fit though.
This picture gives you an idea where the extra sleeve goes if needed. You could always remove the spring and sleeve and attach your grease gun coupler without those parts.... might be easier lol.

edit: does your black coupler have an adjustment for opening the jaws and closing back up once secured to the zerk on the needle adapter? If not get one that does.... makes it a lot easier to get it on and off.

Maybe a dumb question, but what size is the Icon needle adapter? I also don't want to spend $50 on it, but O'Reillys has more than a few in different sizes.

Just switch the low-profile greasing fitting to the normal 6mm grease fitting. Then use the grease gun directly. 6mm grease fittings can be found at parts store or Amazon.

I use the standard zerk for greasing and install the low profile back on under the protective cap. One thing to keep in mind is there's hardly any threads holding the zerk in place.. seems easy to strip the threads when pulling off a standard grease gun coupler. My last greasing i used the locknlube coupler... easier to get on and off from the delta zerk... used the extended version for the pivot bolt zerks.
