So I’m about to pull the trigger on some Icon Delta Joint UCA’s. But just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on a comparable UCA that maybe wasn’t as pricey. I’m down to spend for what will be a great UCA for a long time which is what these look like but if anyone has two cents on the matter toss it in the hat.

Depends on what you plan on using them for.

My go to is SPC arms, delta joints are cool but the joints wear and in salty areas they tend to fail a lot sooner than SPC arms. Probably half the cost as well.

I ran Deltas on my last T4R. They were great, silent and well built. Headstrong recommend Dirt King as well. I may go DK on this truck and save a few bucks.

No, you dont need anything more than a trad moog style unless you plan to race and service ball joints all the time.

Honestly I’m getting new UCA because I want to upgrade to 33’s. I have 2.5” OME lifts and need UCA to account for them. I’m on forest service road and off-road almost everyday.

I recommend SPC, JBA or other UCA that accept a moog ball joint. They are reliable and strong with little maintenance and you can easily buy replacements at a local parts store.

Was looking into these as well awhile back, but went with SPC for adjustability and maintenance.

I ran the Total Chaos UCAs on my 4runner. Living in Colorado with all the mag-chloride they spray on the roads... I got 18k miles on the first set of uniballs before they got sloppy and required a replacement, then the bushings went to shit.... you're looking at about $200ish bucks including the tool. For what my experience was worth.... a set of SPC or JBA's would be my choice. The ball joint is sealed, and will last a lot longer against the road grime. I started chasing noise//squeaks on those TC UCAs after about 5k miles and finally just gave up on them after 25K, I am no expert but having to drop the whole front suspension out every oil change to grease/clean and check everything is annoying. .... if you do decide on a uniball upper... I would suggest something that has a sealed top or dust cover for it.

JBA uses Mid 90s Chevy C/K2500 ball joints that just bolt onto the UCA. Makes repairs while traveling or on the trail super easy as replacements are available at any common parts stores.

SPCs or SPCs repackaged in Mevotech boxes. Their adjustment capability means you can set the LCA cams to maximize tire clearance and minimize trimming.

I've got about 100k on my uniballs. It seems like I'm under this thing every 3 or 4 weeks douching the bushings and uniball with tri-flow. Next rebuild I'm changing them to the deltas because they are a little easier to maintain. One day I'll finally figure out where the squeak is coming from...
