I used a pickle fork to remove the stock UCA from the BJ. Then used a auto-zone rental press to get the BJ out of the spindle. That part was a bitch like already mentioned. I also did this with the coilovers in still. The CO isn't connected to the UCA but it's connected to the LCA which is connected to the UCA with the spindle. Seems to me like it would give it additional downforce to help separate the BJ UCA joint

As for the preload on the coilovers, yeah you measure the amount of threads to determine height. But every truck is different. Once they're installed with the suspension at full droop, so you can turn the adjuster ring. But it's way easier to adjust off the truck. Just try to get it as close as possible. Then lower the truck back down and move it back and forth or take it for a spin. Then measure from center of hub to inside of fender. If it's where you want it then leave it. If not raise the truck up till it's at full droop and adjust it some more till you get your desired height. Make sure to loosen the little Allen screw that keeps the adjuster ring in place before trying to adjust it too. Not all the way though. I have the same set up on my 04 DC 4x4. You're lucky you don't have to worry about CV axle angles. One less thing to worry about! Sounds like you're having fun w/ the UCA's!

You can rent a ball joint press from AutoZone or you can buy one on the cheap from HF

Don't do the extended studs mang. An unneeded hassle. I tired telling ya that but Idk if I was clear enough. Ha sorry if so. But yeah, I would go with the .75 spacers. Much easier to install. Again that's IF you even need them.;)

Regarding extended studs, Thatd be a LAST resort, with the 1/4 spacer. Extended studs are expensive. Probly more than the bolt on spacers. And a bitch to install. Not TOO bad, but a pain. Plus I can't remember where or what I got exactly, but I do remember they were Lexus studs. They were actually a tad too long So I had to use open ended lugs. Yeah, all THAT was a shit show. Lol. Idk what I was thinking.. Wished I had done bolt on spacers to begin with. Now I'd have to switch back to stock studs, and bolt on spacers. I hope none of the stud holes in hub get trashed. Otherwise it'll be new hubs too! I imagine youd only be able to get but a couple stud swaps before the knurls wear out the holes.

Cool! And are they as simple as removing brake / rotor and hammering old one or ? I saw some guy post he got the new one started then attached the lug nut on the other side and pulled it through basically

Mm, yeah but Idk about that method. I was tought to push it in. Not to pull it. I used a c clamp tool to get them pressed in. More work but I didn't wanna risk messing up any of the new studs. Or weakening the studs. If that's even possible. Idk. I think if I had to do the pulling method, I'd use some washers and a spare lug nut, or just a hardened nut with a washer. And certainly against the hub and not with the rim on. I haven't looked at that stuff in quite a while and have only done it the one time. But all 12 studs up front.
