I took the sway bar off my truck with OME887 springs and OME nitrocharger sports and love the ride. It does change the handling but the ride much better. I would recommend trying it without and see for yourself if you like it.

    ^^^^

How did it change the handling?

I tow heavy stuff at times.

    - float with compact tractor (6300 lbs)
    - dump trailer full of fire wood, gravel, soil, scrap metal (7000 lbs plus)

I kept the sway bar and added All Pro end links, as I wanted to remove the push / plow factor under load and especially downhill under braking.

Am I on the right track?

So I took off my sway bar and love the way it handles it is not going back on...My suggestion would to be take it off and drive it to see if you like it or not....

Ignore the butterflies and dragon flies in the background. It's a wifey thing.

Goodbye and good riddance, ReadyLift. Lumber wagon bullshit ride.

It now runs like a dream.

    Thanks, man!

I ended up with 3.5" of lift in the front and 3" in the rear, which gives the truck a slight rake. I also have Air Lift's for the heavy towing that I do.

    I love the ride!

3.5" lift sounds like a lot. How did you measure the height, fender to center hub or is this fender to ground including addition lift from new tires? I am assuming that is inclusive of your tires since you said you love the ride. 3.5" lift from cranking your coilovers would be very stiff. If it is fender to center hub, make sure you check your CV boots and that the joints are not binding. Be aware that lifting at that height with just your coilovers will really limiting your down travel for off-roading.

ICON does have a very nice ride!! Glad that you like it. Congrats on the new lift!!

I've been running icon 2.5 ext travel RR up front for about 2 years and they work great. I just switched out to a 14" 700# ( I also powder coated them to match my shackles and break lines) coil, as well as the icon tubular uniball UCA, ( previously spc) and I removed my sway bar. I also swapped out my rear setup, formerly deaver j66, now ome Dakar with relentless u bolt flip kit and superbump bumpstops. Forgot to mention the all pro spindle gussets, the total chaos cam gussets and icon LCA skids. Also, haven't had a chance to take it off road yet, but it drives great.

    Here are the measurements -

    Front before:
Stock height with Dueller 265 x 17's is 20" CH to fender (didn't take G to Fender measurement)

    Front after:
Lifted height with Icon 2.5 ET set at 2" of thread is 23 1/2" CH to fender and 39" from ground to fender

    Rear before:
Stock height was 22" from centre hub to fender

    Rear after:
25" from CH to fender and 43 1/4" from ground to fender with 2" AAL , 1" block, and AirLifts with 12 lbs of air.

This is with 285/70/17 MT Baja ATZ's. The top of the tailgate (with Access LowRider cover) is 58 1/2" from the ground! I'm a short-ass 5' 8 1/2", so I carry around a milk crate as a step to climb up in the box. I've checked and double-checked boots, down travel front and rear, and all clearances... all is good. The ride was a little stiff at first, but has now softened up considerably.

I've taken it down the logging road that more suited for ATV's or a skidder with no problems and ran it across an abandoned farmers field at over 60 kph. This truck looks and runs plain bad-ass!

Your 285's are giving you about 1" of the lift. What spring rate do you have, 650 or 700#? Don't carry around a milk crate man, get one of these like I have: :D
