I do but it's more Expedition style than any high speed stuff. I live up in the mountains so mainly exploring back-roads and stuff.

To tell you the truth I don't really need the ICON's I could probably do just fine with some standard CO or OME's but with that price I figured I may as well.

The other reason I was trying to stick with Ball-Joint's over the Uniball's was due to wear issues. We get a lot of road salt/sand so I was worried the Uniballs's might not wear as well. Although that is pure speculation so I may be wrong...

    Cheers

LT at Metal-tech was great to work with. Went back and forth with him on a number of question and was very helpful.

Ordered the Extended Travel RR CO, Rear RR Shocks, Icon AAL, Icon UCA.

Haven't heard much about the 2.5" Rear RR Shock - which to clarify is what I got. Hopefully it turns out to be well worth the money.

I didn't keep the emails but a while back I was talking to both Icon and Camburg about switching my toytec coilovers for extended travel and would they work with my camburg ball joints. They both confirmed they would be fine and camburg (since they designed them) told me with their coilovers and ball joint I'd be looking at 10.5" of travel and they are still pretty strong. Their advantage is they stay clean and are maintenance free except to grease if they squeak. Icon confirmed they would also work with there extended travel shocks. That would have been a good opportunity for an upsale if that wasn't true. Based on the previous post from LR labs I'm sure its fine.

They just came out in January I believe so there isn't much out there about them. They look awesome, and are engineered specifically for the Tacoma so I'm sure they will be everything you could dream of.

Yeah they told me the LR's would work to. But they suggest the uni-ball because at full drop the range of movement is limited still by the balljoint in the LR compared to the uni-ball a arms. Its up to the final buyer, but if there was dubt in my head I would spend the few extra hundred and get some a arms with uni-balls.

    The standard expedition setup...
Ahhh! I ordered on the 11th and haven't even been charged yet... I'll have to call and find out what's happening...

I got the extended ICONs and the LR UCAs so I'll let anyone know if there is a failure or not...but I don't think I'm a racing driver (at least off road) so I don't think there will be a problem.

Yup that is what he said, he also said they are being shipped from ICON directly. Saves me some time since its only 2hrs away from me.

Hopefully sooner than later, I'm ok with it for the price I'm paying I got no complaints. :)

What are thoughts on the setup I'm looking at? Icon Ext Travel c/o's w/ RR Icons in the rear. I already have Dakars. I just don't know which UCA to go with. I'd love to keep the cost down and go with the LR but if thoughts are that could lead to problems down the road, I'll go with the TC.

As far as rear shocks, how much travel would I gain with with the RR Icons vs some 5100's? Most of my off-roading with other vehicles in the past has been rock crawling. We've toned it down considerably but still want something with as much travel for IFS as possible for Moab and most CO trails.(This is my first IFS, that's why I'm asking all these stupid questions)

    Thanks.
