Currently have Timbren bump stops and u-bolt flip (that is my truck in the 1st picture) and would like to go with Icon's Hydro bumps. The problem is the hydro bump bracket and remote reservoir are in the same place.

    1) Would it be possible to piggy back the remote resi onto the strut? Has anyone done this or has recommendations to do this? Hose clamps? OME makes a clamp, but not for Tacoma setup. (3rd pic)

    2) If the tubes are the same diameter and no clearance issues (tires/brackets)...anyone think it wouldn't work?

UPDATE/IDEA: What would happen if we switched the brackets Driver<->Passenger and mounted to the inside of the frame rail where there is a lot more open space? Would just need to either weld it in or find a way to bolt the top of the bracket.

It seems to me you would want to get the resi lines extended in order to achieve this and then mount the bracket further out. Do you do a lot of fast driving to where you need hydro bumps? I ask as I didn't go to hydro bumps until I went LT in the rear with my truck, but with a mid travel SUA the stock bumps held up pretty decent.

Going with Archive's hangers and 4.5"s shackles and wanted a more robust response than the spongy rubber because overload isn't an issue with the Dakars like it was stock Off-Road leafs.

zero plans for SUA or highspeed really, just expo and do see some speed off road...mostly for getting out to the trails here in SoCal

Hmmm ok...curious if it is required when going with the archive set up or not to throw hydros on. IMO the rubber stuff works great for slow speed crawling and stuff, its the rapid high speed stuff that tends to get people. Regardless if you are an aggressive off-roader than I would see if you can get some extended resi lines from OME. Guys with kings play with their line configs all the time depending on the application/orientation needed.

yep, not required for the hangers. here's the plan. new hangers and a hi-clearance to install. more weight added on top of a bed cap, gear and beer, mix in 45mph and good whoop...would rather have a hydro bump than rubber.

Yea with all that overlanding weight and speed...def need the bumps. Whenever I think of a fast mid travel guy, it reminds me of the second gen guy who had icon suspension without hydros. One whoop at 30ish following his buddy that he didn't see coming and it bent all his shit up in the bed area.

see, that's me. I am sharp and graceful like a sledgehammer. So that would be me tearing up perfectly good gear...and knowing that, I just insult my wallet once rather than ego and the wallet a second time fixing it. sigh.

I think getting the resi body brackets to mount the cans parallel to the shock makes sense. Cheap, no extending the lines, and it can be clean and out of the way.

Update: Talked to ARB USA and they were able to find a clamp that will work from another fitment kit and barring anything major, this should work out! If ANYONE needs (highly doubtful) the info ...

Would the reservoir go outward (away form the axle housing) or inward (towards the axle housing)?
At full compression real-estate in the wheel well is hard to come by and the axle housing/shock tabs crashing into a stationary reservoir is very unforgiving.

Thank you for checking in, forgot to @ you in the initial post.

This was my concern as well. The banjos felt more at home with the reservoir mounted towards the axle. Tried mounting it outwards, but the hose was flexing so much I was worried about it crimping. Flipped it around and it's a better/more relaxed fit. Pics are at nearly full compression and there was plenty of space since the reservoir is 2.5" and more narrow than the shock body at 3". It was rotated out away from the frame to "split the difference" of the free space on either side.

BTW that stupid bit of plastic "tab" on the bed box that is above that rear brake line bracket...after dealing with it too many times...ya, that is my most hated bolt on the truck now.
