They're supposed to be OEM replacemt. 2 bolts to mess with that's it. Why would anyone mess with the fittings?

maybe people should just start buying the old air shocks the sold on the 80's where you just add to "lift" whatever, like everyone used on the rear end of cars?

Nah, they'd fuck that up, too.

I find this funny that this is the first company I have come across that has "OEM" replacement parts, yet requires ANYTHING besides a few sockets. Furthermore, it seems the QC on some of their shocks are spotty enough that there is a small community of members who have leaky shocks. Maybe I expect more from premium shocks or I guess I have been just that damn lucky. Either way, it sounds like icon is redefining what "OEM" could mean. Never mind that the rear shock bracket isn't good enough for icon when the competition seems to have no issue designing around this.

You fan boys crack me up.

as a user of Icon on my old truck, zero issues in 4 years, going with adjustable Fox's on this truck, having to modify things on a off road truck to install items is super common. if you are just looking to bolt shit on, get a body lift lol

That's why I got kings brother! No need to mod shit that don't need it. Truck already has plenty of other mods elsewhere!

Your persuasive skills have convinced me to do so. Any idea if my Icons will work on the Smart car? Hopefully direct bolt-in, no notch cutting.

Agreed. If you want OEM fitment/reliability/performance, stay with OEM.

    Sup fellas?!
I am currently in contact with Cory about this issue. The other rep Brian was correct, we cannot warranty products that were installed improperly. Our original instructions did not include the note to notch the bucket for clearance and every one of our customers that had this similar issue, prior to the revision in the instructions was taken care of under warranty. Cory’s shocks were purchased a few months after the revision had been made so unless he received old stock from one of our distributors, which is highly unlikely due to how quickly our Toyota products move he would’ve definitely received the updated instructions that clearly state that notching has to be done for clearance. If Cory can provide information as to whom he ordered the product from we can track the date that his shocks were built and confirm whether or not he received the proper instructions.

We stand by our products and are proud of the work we do! But if we warrantied everyone's kits that were installed improperly, and didn't pay attention to instructions, that's all we'd be doing instead of building new products for everyone else! lol

Either way guys, you have to sand away a small part of the upper shock mount. It's very clear in the instructions and its really easy.

PS. I read something about another company offering a one time shock re-valve. We do that too ;)
