If you guys look at post #1 and the updated instructions, the picture there is the same exact picture as these old instructions.

My 2.0's with resi's did the same thing as OP's. However when I contacted Icon they were more than happy to fix them. I had a rebuilt unit within the week.

I wonder if they had a bunch of warranty claims filed from people installing them with the nut tightened down too much, so they added the part about sanding down the shock mount to prevent it from rubbing at all. But then I have to wonder if that was the case, why did they have a photo of a marked shock mount in the old instructions and not update the instructions quicker?

    Weird....

Do you have to drill into the frame to mount the rear reservoirs?

I just wanted to make sure since I am only familiar with my install on kings, but I called up Dan at wheelers. Not to be that dude, but it is from my understanding that typically you shouldn't have to really ever tighten your fittings on the resi line unless you really bang the truck up. I asked whether or not if the Icon instructions even suggest this, he said not that he is aware of. I know the topic of your discussion is in regards to someone deviating to a certain degree, which if they clearly break the install and maintenance cardinal rules than I can understand not warrantying it.

Now to go back, besides notching the shock, really THAT should be the ONLY factor to possibly void a warranty. I think where some are getting sensitive here is that apparently there is a legitimate track record of some Icon shocks not being tightened down properly in their QC. This is bullshit, because this could of likely occurred with the OP! If that is the case, and although possible rubbing on the line obviously isn't ideal, but that the OP could be getting screwed due to a shitty QC check.

I know I probably take this shit more seriously than I probably should, but hey Im a mech engineer and I would be toasted if I didn't respect the confines of QC for my work. Maybe that's why I am sad to hear that with Icon, they may not conduct to the same standard that I would like.

What we don't know is how much of an ass the OP was when he first contacted Icon? Judging by the fact he started this thread, he was probably an ass from the get go?

@ tetten You might wanna confirm what "flush with shock stem" means from Icon directly?

I have been following along in this debate, but you make it sound like the OP was DEF NOT cordial in his communications with Icon? Were you part of the convo? Are you related? Did you both have a chat about it?

I'm not making any warranty claims or complaints. I'm just providing extra information on the subject, and don't really have a positive or negative opinion of Icon. And concerning the tiny bit of rubbing I have on my 90s, I would bet that has to do with the fact that I have the ICON 56503R-EXT version of the 2.0 shock for 2.5-3.5 inch lift. I wonder if they wrote the instructions for the 0-1.5" lift kits and the additional travel makes the 90 shift around a bit more.

Didn't read thread but, I skimmed first few pages and all I've ever heard is that icon is overpriced, shitty customer service, etc. KING FTW
