I agree. We live in a strange world where everyone wants someone else to do things for them and when things go wrong throwing a fit in order to rectify the problem.

There isn't much self accountability anymore.

That old saying "If you want something done right, do it yourself" couldn't be truer.

I feel like I need to get rid of my kings, just because of all the douche bags in here that have never had any experience with Icon at all, but somehow they just "know" Icon sucks when installed improperly.

I've never had experience with Icon, never said they suck either, just that the advertising and methodology seemed false and fishy to me.

Had experience with you on here though, and somehow I do KNOW that you suck.

Why do people always say go talk to someone else before bashing a company ? This a forum. We share info. Wether it's bad or good. OP is sharing his exoierence. Wether we think it's right or wrong. People need to know.

Because small issues may be worked out with the manufacturer by calling first.

I think the OP did things right, respectfully contacted Icon and explained his situation. He seemed pretty "relaxed" considering that he just found out through email/text that his warranty was void after going through a professional shop for the install. He went here to gripe about the situation and to get additional feedback in regards to if he should intervene more. It might be expected considering that a manufacturer might get flamed, that this would turn into a shit show. You cant control the internet nor TW, Im surprised people seem to keep grouping this frustration with the OP. Im sure if I was frustrated, I would of likely posted something eventually about if I was the OP.

Care to elaborate why the person sued about the warnings? Did the lack of warnings cause a part to fail that the company failed to provide the proper literature in a timely fashion causing a voided warranty?

It uses the factory mounts. You don't have to fabricate custom mounts. It literally bolts on.

You don't need to grind anything if it's positioned correctly. People can't figure that out so there are problems. As a sort of precaution, they ask that to be done.

EDIT: They ask for that to be done to protect themselves against poor installs.
