You got a point there but I'm lazy and got nothing riding on this so don't hold your breath for it. Pics might happen at some point

I've spent way too much time on the toilet reading all 40 pages of this thread and the only thing that made me laugh as hard as this was the first gen Toyota commercial.

I emailed DSM the other day and Sonny told me I couldn't get Kings without RR's  do you have to take up custom orders with the manufacturer?

I have heard its almost the same price for them to come without resis. I would either look at another coilover company or commit to some resis if you want Kings.

Bingo. Gives you the excuse to start a thread like this too if things go to shit!

Mine were custom ordered. And they are not exactly an off the shelf part

I'm sure you could get King to build you non resi coilovers, but you want resis since I don't think king makes an IFP shock, and those usually gives you less travel. And a custom coilover, even without resis will probably cost you the same if not more than the off the shelf shock.

I just don't have any need for the resis. In the type of off roading I do, whether I have Kings or OME probably won't affect how far I can or can't make it down the trail. I'm only looking at high-end setups for the sake of ride quality.

Sumbitch:drool: I wanna be just like you when I grow up! Sub'd to build thread

BTW, my wife is kinda spoiled and wanted black Kings with resis for her 4Runner. Just get them. You won't be disappointed.

I also just had Icon's stage 4 kit installed by an icon approved retailer and 4x4 shop 4 weeks later the driver side uniball is broken. Icon was helpful in sending replacement uniballs but I've already spent 800$ for install and now have to spend another 200$ to replace the uniball. Wishing i would have bought kings

Can you tell me how buying Kings would have helped with the upper control arm? Do some reading and change the uniball yourself. It's not hard at all to do.

The point is that a "high quality" 3000$ suspension kit should not be having any problems after 4 weeks. I'm sure its not hard but that is besides the point.

Fair enough. Since the shop is an approved retailer and you spent so much money with them wont they help you out and eat the install cost?

    Not enough
Getting a second opinion on a leaking 9 month old shock w/10k miles on it tomorrow. But not pleased at all with the initial response from ICON that the shop needs to pull it, send it back for a rebuild, then re-install it.
