Call me crazy but I'd say that a great deal of that ridiculous price is labor. Yes, all of the parts on that vehicle are expensive, but you've gotta pay someone to put it all together. But for 150k.... No thanks, I'll take a Porsche.

you do realize that they start out with an original Bronco, strip it down, completely rebuild it by hand including making a new body for it, shoving a High Output V8 in it and are made in very limited numbers. Icon's reproductions are very high quality.

You can do it yourself from about 10k to 20k depending on how much you wanna spend....ask me how I know :D ahahah, granted the older models are usually more expensive than the one we have, the good quality non rusty ones are atleast ahaha.

According to the blog article it's the other way around. :) Icon takes the original Bronco body and discards everything else. The rest of the vehicle is all new design - they even bend their own frame rails. Apparently Icon is going after the Patek Phillipe crowd: there's no reason to machine custom door handles out of billet, but they do it anyway for the style.

    Yeah man, I agree!

But I think it's that high because they're only making a few of them from scratch. If they were using a modern assembly plant, and were making thousands of them it would probably be a lot different in price.

I love that they put that 5.0 in there, and many modern design features like the anti-lock brakes for example.

Make em' under $20k, no plastic, and straight axles.....I'll buy one!
