Finally got around to installing my icon add a leaf to the oem spring pack. Installation is super simple and took me about an hour to do both sides without taking the entire leaf pack off.

Instructions are very straight forward and if you have any mechanical skill it’s a walk in the park.

After install I took it around my neighborhood to try and see if I can feel any difference, and thankfully I did. It kept the roughly same height as my 1.5” blocks that I had on before but now it does feel a tad bit firmer but just enough where I’ll have some confidence when I have the back loaded up. No more bottoming on the overload spring (which I kept out) and it feels as if the suspension does cycle better. I’ll be installing 5100s or equivalent as soon as I find a good deal but for now these will do. Depending on how the rake looks loaded I might put the blocks back in. Here’s a few pics of install and final ride height, note that I do have MaxTrac 4” spindles upfront.7B97F9B8-442D-4239-9574-DFAF0D068EB1.jpg 7A5D79FB-BE2B-4C2A-8409-D595D0B63EA6.jpg70D73DDF-9C92-47F3-B229-140479888485.jpg D932E006-1BE5-4936-8CF5-B709B2362254.jpg

Only thing is some guys have issues with the left spring retainer bolt rubbing into the gas tank, double check that its not going to touch. Otherwise nice job!

nice job! I also did this back in December. What did you do with the e-brake bracket that use to screw into the overload leaf? I was thinking of just cutting mine off as it just rattles against everything metal. Looks great!

Gonna have to see what I did, I can’t recall and didn’t even think to look for clearance. Thanks guys!

Grand Tetons from San Diego in a week and a half, hopefully this aal helps with the camping gear weight I’ll have. I was tired of bottoming on the overload spring with anything over 80lbs in the bed lol!

Nice job on the install! Don't want to sound negative, but shouldn't there be 3 factory leaves? I know the was a recall on the 2nd gen leafs ( old style/recalled ones were 2(+1 overload), replacement ones are 3 (+1 overload spring)

Im not too sure, I took the truck to Toyota for replacement but they denied me since there was lift blocks and I couldn’t get the recall leafs. Bummed me out!
And for the overload, I have it but instructions recommended to leave it out. Now you got me wondering if I should find some take offs to get a more legit pack on.
