Just bought a used stage 2 from someone local. Price was too good to pass up, but he did tell me that when he got them out of storage that one of the rear shocks was leaking. He found a small dime size puddle after the shocks sat for about 3 months. I’ve had them for two weeks with no signs of leaking, but he said he’s got about 20k on them so I figured I’d just get them rebuilt before installation. Are there Icon service centers on the east coast? Or do I have to ship them to Cali? Open to suggestions as far as how to proceed.

Anyone? I'd like to install these ASAP. I've had them sitting in a box for several months with no discernible leak found, but I'm not sure I trust it enough to install them without rebuilding first.

A lot of offroad shops can rebuild. You don’t have to ship them back to the manufacturer. I’ve had friends rebuild our kings in their garage, I just brought new seals and shock oil. They did the rest.

The attached link lists all supporting dealers and a chart for the frequency of service. You can also get the rebuild kit and take it to a local shop that rebuilds shocks.

I think I may take a shot at doing the shock rebuild myself. The kit is inexpensive, and there are multiple youtube videos that offer some decent instruction. I'm no longer rushing it. If the shock rebuild goes well, I'll consider buying the needed tools to tackle the coilovers...but the cost of a good heavy duty spring compressor may make it non cost effective. In that case I'll try and find a local shop that can do it for me. If I can't find a shop within 2 hours of Harrisonburg, Va, I'll probably bite the bullet and send the coils back to Icon.
