As my truck sits right now with factory Fox pro shocks, option 2, 265/75r16, just my cap and a full tank of fuel my rear is at 39" measured in line with the center of the wheel. My cap isn't crazy heavy, I'd say roughly 150lbs. (front is Eibach TRD Pro lift springs if anyone is wondering)

I'd say I lose about 1 inch when at roughly 500 lbs.

    Cap only.

Next is cap, gear, and tongue weight I'd estimate around 500lbs. Plus a full fuel tank as well.
    20240905_090408.jpg

    This is roughly 300lbs

That looks great, from what I’ve read it seems you lose about 1/4” per 100 pounds though I doubt that’s linear. Any changes to rear shocks or brake lines?

How much lift are you running on the front?

No change to shocks or lines, just gotta move the brackets forward that hold the ebrake cable along the springs. Since I'm still running the factory Fox shocks the overall travel is the same, so the lines didn't need replacing. If you change to shocks that have longer travel than factory then you might need to look into longer lines.

Front measures 36.75". I don't recall what it was before the lift. I would like another .75 - 1 inch in the front, but to keep the Fox shocks I'd have to run a spacer lift and I don't want to do that. Once these shocks need replacing I'll look at a proper kit.

Have AC but have midrise shell and custom drawer system constantly in. I’d say about 300-450 lbs. This is fully loaded with awning and drawers/bed loaded. When first installed sat about 2” above stock when first started but haven’t measured to see if it set more or not. Also in this pic I have a 1.1” lift up front.
TLDR: I got 2 inch lift with option two with about 300-400 pounds constant. Haven’t measured in awhile to check on settle.

Alright, really hoping I didn’t fuck myself here… the directions clearly state to remove both wheels and lower the rear diff. My garage is pretty tight, I was hoping to do one side at a time. I was able to get everything fit except for where the nipple fits into the little hole on the differential. I’m worried it rotated forward and won’t be able to get it back together.

Has anyone else ran into this? Is it imperative to remove both wheels to drop the diff level?

Sounds like you’re describing the bolt that goes through the bottom of the leaf pack. Sometimes a rachet strap can help you reposition the axle as needed to reseat that bolt head.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
Ratchet strap and maybe loosen the U-bolts on the opposite side to give you some wiggle room.

Alright, figured I would chime in with actual measurements following install of option 2. I was hoping for 1.5” of lift with the topper and platform in the bed (actual was a 2.5” lift).

I began replacing the front shocks as the oem shocks were garbage and making a clicking sound during suspension cycle. I opted for the 0.65 setting on the 5100s. I then took a look at my leaf springs and noticed they were sagging about an inch.

    Current hub to fender measurements:
    • Front: 21.5”
    • Rear: 24.5”

Now trying to decide what to set the front shocks at since I’m sure the rear will settle but I would like to keep at least an inch of rake. How much rake is too much?? I imagine that could add wear.

    Only other loose end…
    • The brake line brackets still need to be cut off.

Doesn’t look like too much take to me. I put my 5100 at 1.1 inch and have about 1inch of rake. I like it.
Plus then you can load the truck down more with option 2 and not sage. Assuming you load it up regularly I would leave at option 2. It is a change that you just need to get used to. I thought mine was too much when I first put it on but now I’m used to it and love it.

Definitely leaving it on option 2. Now trying to decide if the front should be at 1.1 or 1.5.

Is that a totally random shot of a fox under your truck? Or was it snapped on the fly when you saw it? Or… do you have some weird dog breed that looks like a fox?

This was at Animas Fork in Colorado. Theres fox everywhere because people feed them. This particular guy had some of the coolest coloring and I was I watching him for a while before he made his way under the truck to cool off in the shade.

I think I finally found the actual source of my squeak.
A few of my leaf springs were crooked enough to rub against the alignment clamps causing them to squeak(1st photo is with them fixed). I had previously been spraying down the leaf pack with T9 which would shut it up for a few months.

It seems like the U bolts weren't fully clamping down the pack because the U bolts were so thick they just touched the edge of my Sumo Springs (2nd photo) and every time after off roading both my springs were out of alignment.

I decided to do a U bolt flip, which I should have done in the first place, and temporarily mounted the Sumo Springs on some ghetto brackets I made(3rd photo). My new Perry bump stops get here next week but I think my bump stop hack should do the job while I wait.
I really need to buy a hydraulic press so I can bend thicker metal, my bench vise brake can barely do 1/8" steel.
