Damn she looks sexy! What offset and tire combo are you running? Looking at doing the rxt's with 6112's up front and just curious what I'll be able to fit. This is on a 19 dcsb or.

Has one any installed RXT leaf springs in conjunctions with 12" travel shocks, shock relocation kit, and measured the actual drop allowed by the RXT leafs? Hoping someone can chime in as this is the route I want to go. Thanks!

Answered your PM. Long story short, the leafs aren't necessarily the limiting factor for me, shock mounts are

Okay, anyone got any advice for getting the front spring bolt loose? I started today on the drivers side and that fucker would wouldnt budge in the slightest. I sprayed it down with wd40 and put everything back together. Breaker bar, impact wrench, nothing worked. Dont want to cut the damn thing out right next to the gas tank, thanks.

Yeah I searced all the relevant threads on TW last night. I was up till about 1:00 am:bananadead:.
I'm gonna try the penetrating oil route for a week or so then try it again. The funny thing is I had the add a leaf installed less than a year ago. I wouldnt think it would have seized up in the sleeve in that short of a time.

Running option 2 on my RXT.

Immediately after install the lift was 3” in the rear. I expect it to settle a bit.

Obviously the front of the truck needs to come up, I’ll be adjusting it on Tuesday when I get toe plates to do a rough alignment afterward.

    Running ADS extended all around.

The ride is good, better with a couple sand bags but totally livable without weight.

I plan on having a bed cage from BFF so that should give me enough weight for a decent ride.

Save yourself the trouble and just cut it off. I tried two different impact guns and then like a 5 foot breaker bar and couldn’t get it out. It felt like it was turning, but it was like seized to the rubber bushing so it would just rotate back. Gave it hell for about 2 hours before I gave up and got the sawzall.

Have you tried a little heat from a propane gun on it? Heat almost always works.

So is anyone having squeaking issues... mine are driving me crazy! I’m on option 2 with 1000 miles on them.

What are y’all spraying on them to keep them quiet?

I had some slight squeaking issues over the past several thousand miles. Nothing too bad from inside the cab, but I would always hear it when loading/unloading the truck or setting up the RTT.

This weekend I swapped down to option 1 (from #2). When I did I found some wear marks on some of the leafs. Looked like a few spots where they were riding metal on metal contact rather than on the isolator pads. Also, a shit ton of dust (as you would expect) that had been packed in between the leafs.

When I re-assembled everything, I hosed the shit out of each leaf and each pad with fluid film. We'll see how long that lasts.. Some people use regular grease on the pads, some use dry lube spray. This one in particular has been recommended by people in several other threads on here for their after market leaf packs.

On a different note, I also installed 2.5 degree shims while everything was torn out. That seems to have mostly eliminated the vibration issues. Still feeling some vibes under heavy acceleration from ~5-15 mph, but its better at highway speeds 70-75 now which is awesome. Plus the ride is already better.

I need to get new height measurements this afternoon to compare them to the before measurements. But honestly the ride height doesn't look any different at all. Probably need to wait a bit for that 1 new leaf to settle out and match the others.

Edit: only torqued the U-bolts to 55 ft-lbf this time around. Icons spec of 70 seemed way too high. The stock bump stops were mushroomed right out around the edges. Didnt get any pictures of that tho

Mine have squeaked in option 2 for months. Haven’t tried anything other than the hose. Pretty sure you’ll have to pull them apart and clean to completely get rid of squeaks.

Anyone tried greaseable shackle/ forward spring bolts with success?

Ive been chasing the lovely driveline vibes myself. Only seems noticable from 60 to 70. Started on option 2 then for giggles changed to option 1. With a topper and 130 lbs of tools im at 24” hub to fender, at option one and same weight dropped to 23”. Went back to option 2. This is all during the last couple wks messing with 1 and 1.5 degree shims and various cb spacings.

Did you measure you angles before choosing 2.5 shim or just slap in in and hope for the best?

Yeah, its not like the vibrations are bad enough to ruin the ride, I just dont like the idea of all the extra stress on the u-joints. Also I havent touched the CB yet, and hoping not to just for the sake of keeping it simple. Ill see how it rides in a month or two once that new leaf has settled in, but for now I think I can live with it.

Edit: still need to measure the truck on Op 1.. still havent had time

Like @ChiefBrody said. Cut em out. Better to replace with fresh ones all the way around anyways. Atleast I did
