Can one of you fellers take a pic on the rear of your leaf pack showing the end at the back of the truck of the 2nd and 3rd leaf please

    @SpeySquatch

What is the revision date on your instructions? My instructions don't mention the leaf direction.

    Good catch! Very interesting.

This ought to be good. I’ll come to find out I need to flip the leaf to the way I had it...lol

my 2nd & 3rd leafs are not flush. a while back in this thread the consensus here was they should not be flush (forget how exactly how we came to that). my instructions are from 6-27-2017 REV. A, which does not stipulate which end the longer side should point...
i have the take-off shudder both with & without 3* shims.
would be great to have icon weigh in here...

On the shudder topic, I did a carrier bearing drop and nothing else on both trucks, both running option 2.

    No shudder or vibrations.

Maybe I lucked out or maybe the DCLB geometry has something to do with it

I wouldn't overthink it too much haha. What you have in your picture is incorrect (as you know). The cover image on the instruction sheet is essentially the 'final product' image you are looking for like GF8er posted. Working 'down' the pack from largest to smallest, each leaf gets smaller by roughly an equal length on each side. In your case you have no overlap on that side, and probably ~4 inches of overlap on the other. Just have to turn that one leaf around.

I just called Icon and they said it was a typo in that batch of instructions that they include for other leaf packs not specific to the Tacoma.

    All good

So to be clear - the 2nd & 3rd leaf ends should NOT be flush with each other?

What was the typo, exactly? it's extremely difficult to keep up with who is saying what in here. I still have no idea which installation method is correct based on the vague/numerous responses.

Can you or someone else PLEASE post a "once and for all" correct installation description and image? It would be much appreciated.

I think the "once and for all" clarification can only come from @Icon_Adrian but the consensus seems to be the leafs should not be flush. When going from option 1 -2, they should maintain the same orientation and corresponding step down in length as the original leaf.

This is how I have mine installed and how @SpeySquatch swapped his to be installed. Per his phone conversation with Icon, the original instructions were incorrect and the leafs should not be flush.

    Unless I'm misunderstanding....haha

The highlighted red area in my instructions is the typo. I called Icon tech help directly

My install was correct. Great discussion though and good feedback. My point of writing the whole thing up was to avoid people running into the same issues I had. It was not fun reconfiguring the packs so many times. It should have been apparent that the leaves should have not been flush.

Aye, sorry for late reply. I can get a pic for ya later if you still need it.
In option one the third leaf is in fact put in longer end forward as packaged. For option 2 the long end of the leaf should be to the front of the pack. If leafs are installed the std long end to the rear, I had interference with the isolater pads, plus leafs dont match or step correctly which has been mentioned. My directions gave no mention right or wrong.
Yes i did talk to icon as well and they confirmed my findings a few months ago

I mean...have you ever seen a leaf pack where they don't taper in length? If you're able to install leafs on your truck, I feel like you should understand the instructions had a mistake.
