Just got those crummy Dakars off and all I can say is WOW.

The ride is Beyond smooth. The RXT's are installed on option 2. No vibes, no chatter, nothing. Driving on the highway and over the exact bumps I drove my dakars on is a complete transformation to the plush side.
The ride is so different that many of the harshness which I believed to be my front end is now gone. I'm very glad I made the switch.

I kept the same 3 degree Toytec shims I had before, but did the greasable shackle upgrade via new OEM shackles with tapped zercs and Energy Suspension bushings. I also added the Dobinsons greable bolts to the top mounting points.

Rear fender height from the ground with 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks at 33psi now sits right at 40"

Bye Bye Dakars. Still have the add HD Leaf if anybody is interested, but honestly after installing these RXT's I almost wouldn't feel right selling them because they don't even come close to how these soak up bumps.

Any ride height difference shots for before (Dakars) and after?

So for the OEM shackles, you just drilled and taped for those zerc fittings?

Before my ride height with my used dakars (medium 6-leaf) was 38 7/8", now it is 39 7/8" maybe 40"...tires are 265/70/17. Both sides are within an 1/8" of each other. No pics yet. With only 1.5" of lift in front the rake is really nice and looks very normal

Yes I just drilled a hole in the shackles and used self tapping zercs. Screwing them in required a bit of umph. Just lubed them with Lucas red grease and they work like a charm.

Would you mind posting a list of the parts you used (zerks, bushings, etc)? Are the bushings for the RXTs or in the shackles?

He's putting those into the OEM shackles so he can grease them as the OEM ones are not able to be greased properly without removing. This way he doesn't have to remove them and the likelihood of them staying greased is much higher.

You’re lucky I’ve had a few beers.
All of this off Amazon, except for the shackles, I would have to dig through emails but I bought the shackles through some east coast online dealer. I would just google search the part #

Many thanks! You can grease my zerks anytime, if you know what I mean.

Why not use the OEM old shackles?

Because that would require taking them off the truck first rather than spending $24 for new ones .

The OEM have old bushings and it was super easy to get the new (not dirty) ones complete and ready to rock with Energy Suspension bushings and zercs. It was well worth my time

@ARCHIVE I think that's a reasonable explanation, however I am not alone in being turned off by my interactions with Deaver as a potential customer. One-word grunts don't engender confidence in their products.

How are your spring plans coming along? You will be offering a customized Deaver pack? That would be preferable to dealing with them directly.

Haha, you bring up a good point, Deaver is very ancient in their customer service, but they also make or will make springs for 1/2 the wheeled vehicles on the planet.

The Archive springs are 100.0% my design, and not made by Deaver. I wanted to have my own drawing and deal direct with a premium factory. My 1st pair of Tacoma test springs are just completed at the manufacturer and will ship very soon. This design isn't out of the blue either, I have already done a similar design for the 1st gen Tundra and tested on my own Tundra, and the Tacoma design shares some similarities. I plan to be testing in April, and possibly able to ship in July. I set out to build a leaf spring that just plain works, high quality material, built in USA and has a full military wrap, bolted spring clips, tip inserts on all leave ends, tight leaf stepping to combat axle wrap, and correct bushing sleeve width. It should slot in as a medium duty spring that can be acceptable in ride quality without any weight over stock on a DC.

How about a heavy duty option down the road? I currently have EL096R springs plus the AAL and am sick of the noises those springs make. Not to mention that I had to cut them so they stopped destroying my shackles.

And I am still loving my Hammer Hangers after about a year of use!

I left the possibility open to add another leaf for HD option. Still have testing to do

What would a good budget shock be for this pack?

It looks good and I like how it holds up. now I like to hear your feed back on how it rides in the dirt trails.

I think i am going with these on level one. Just trying to figure out what else i will need. I am thinking the b110 or 5160 for shock? Do i need new bump stops and extended break lines?

Anyone with shell, stock rear bumper, and RXT on different settings? I always want my rear higher than my front and trying to decide if I go stage 2 or 3...
