What would i need to run wheelers superbump bumpestops for the rear RXT leaf packs? I've read somewhere that I would need the U flip bolt kit?

Anybody else having issues with the bottom/small leaf kicking out 5-10 degrees? I've got the leaf spring stack bolt at 15 ft-lbs and the u-bolts at 75 ft-lbs. This is the second time I've straightened them out, and after 50 miles in the desert, crooked again.

Mine have been OK after more than a year. I'm running Speedway leaf liners and Wheelers U-bolt flip kit.

I have not.. Are you sure the center pin is in the hole and lined up correctly? I cant imagine there would be any way for that to move with that much clamping force from both u-bolts.

As an aside I think 75 ft-lbs is too much, but probably not the end of the world either

Yep, center pin only has one place to go, and its centered. Icon manual says 15 ft-lbs. And have timbren flip kit, that manual calls for 75 ft-lbs on the u's. I will call icon and see if they have any feedback.

Not judging you just saying I have seen more than a few threads on here where people think the center pin is centered, but turns out it was not. Its hard to tell from your picture

Thats the only way I can see the bottom leaf being able to move. 75ft*lbf on a bolt that size, times 4 of them, is a lot of damn force

I added a photo with a better angle.

By saying "not lined up" you mean that the cylindrical head of the center pin is not placed down into the mating hole on the axle correctly? Which would mean all of the weight/u-bolt clamping force would be on the pin head instead of onto the leaf itself, correct? My bottom leafs look to be pretty flush with the pad.

I called icon, he said the new ones might have a bit of lube on the contact pads and/or the spacer. I should take them apart, use some IPA and sandpaper to give better friction. He also suggested going above 75 ft-lbs on the u-bolts. Im not sure about that...

Thanks for the help! (I didn't think i was being judged.)

It looks properly seated but for it to still rotate like that leads me to believe something is not aligned correctly. Off the bat, I'm wondering if you maybe have a leaf in the wrong way? Something that might cause the distance between the mounting pin and each pack bushing to be asymmetrical between left and right, causing your rear axle to self-align but rotate the springs.

Don't know if that's mechanically possible or not. Been a long Monday so I don't have many brain cells left.

Springs move.... up the u-bolt torque in 3 or 4 pound increments until it stops moving. Or just tap the leaf back into place with a small sledgehammer and monitor it to see how long it takes to slip out.

I might have missed it, but have u retorqued the ubolts since u installed them?

Some 1 ton trucks run into a 150 foot pounds and higher on the ubolts....

My icons are stage 3 with the wheelers ubolt flip kit and the bottom leafs have not moved.

Good luck post up any changes.

Yup that is what I was getting at. Looks ok in your picture.

You should re-torque everything suspension related after a drive also like mentioned above.

One last thing, I try to do u-bolts in a 'star' pattern. Snug them all up, then start doing maybe a turn on one, then a turn on the one diagonally across, then the one next to it, etc. Hopefully that makes sense. Just like doing lug nuts on a wheel. I would try all that before upping the torque value.

Well, I straightened the small leaf springs and torqued all the nuts (star pattern) to 78ft-lbs. Hit the desert pretty hard yesterday and only one side is completely crooked now. At least I'm making some progress! I've convinced myself the problem is the lower quality ⌀1/2" u-bolts that come with the Wheeler's/Timbren U-bolt flip kit. I've probably stretched them. I just purchased some ⌀9/16" grade 5 u-bolts. Hopefully that will keep it tight.

Hey all, just joined the rxt family after years on my stock leafs with a 2 in block. I just installed a full suspension lift on my 91 land cruiser and honestly, just didn’t have it in me to install these haha, so I took it to a local shop. They mistakenly set it up in option 3 instead of 2. I said F it and am trying it out in 3 to see how I like it. I have about 500lbs between my armor and SC, and honestly they feel much more plush than my stock leafs (even at option 3). I also figure this will provide more protection from overloading and warping these leafs when I carry a lot of weight off-roading. I’m on 700lb springs up front. So for those of you who are curious about running option 3 with a similar amount of weight, it’s really not harsh at all. I’m guessing this has something to do with the progressive spring rate, but I really am enjoying the stiffer set up. Any thoughts since I haven’t tried it in option 2 yet?

Tough to say, I haven't taken any measurements since and have added some static weight. Visually, it's maybe settle a quarter inch over the past year. It gets used pretty hard, and flexed out often. Ive also added BAMF shackles and spring hangers so a reference point is hard to establish.

All in all, I'm super happy with the springs and they work really well for my ~200lb static weight. Even hailing a full load of firewood a couple weekend ago was handled extremely well. The springs supported the weight, ADS shocks controlled it beautifully. The springs didn't invert but also didn't have much arch.

Thanks for the response. I just installed mine with Fox 2.5 DSC Tundra shocks. I'm trying to figure out how much settling to expect. But more importantly, I have the shudder and vibes that I need to solve.

Does anyone with ICON RXT pack and the ICON rear shocks experience the shudder and vibes?
