If going with Bilstein 5100s with the leaf pack (or an AAL) to get 1.5" lift in both the front and rear, is the B8 5100 (rear) Part Number:33-319070 (Fits Vehicles With 4" Rear Lift) required since the B8 5100 Part Number:24-186728 (Fits Vehicles With 0-1" Rear Lift) appears to not extend past 1"?

    I'm a bit confused since the 33-319070 part doesn't mention a range.

I'm running a 200 lb camper shell and about 50 lbs of stuff every day. I have about 1.5" of lift in the rear. With about 200 lbs of gear, I'm level. Option 1.

Well I had an interesting full day putting in the springs. Learned a lot. Only problem is stage 3 raised my back end just shy of 4 inches! Can't even get out of the garage with the limited clearance from my go fast camper, lol. Is that typical? I have just under 400 lbs on the bed right now (gfc platform camper @300lbs and drawer buildout inside the truck). I am surprised it didn't settle lower, as I bought the springs lightly used (he told me 3K miles with some offroad use). Maybe the old springs were that beat, such that my measurements at stock height would have been that much higher? Its an access cab and I have 265/75/16 tires and with the load in the back, the top of my wheels wells were at 36" and now they're just under 40. I'll probably be down grading to level 1 so I can get in and out of the garage.

Here are some photos of the brake lines. I dropped the axle all the way and the lines had plenty of play, so I'm assuming I'm good on not needing to extend them? Is the location I moved the E-brake line to on the spring good enough?

I still need to install my RXT’s with a go fast and deciding between option 2 and 3 still, so keep us updated on what you go with!

I'm going from stage 1 to stage 2 when GFC goes on. Will still be minimal weight on rear though(relatively speaking) . No drawer system rear swing out bumper etc.
Will just be GFC fridge and some miscellaneous gear in the bed. Put roughly 300lbs in bed on option one it squats about 1/2 -3/4 of an inch so option two should level that out and maintain current 1 inch rake.

From the couple guys I've talked to that went 3 with similar weight they either went back to 2 or are planning on it.

I'll probably have to go to level 1 given my garage clearance.

    23.5 center hub to fender

Edit. Goal will be to have the rear settle around 24 5 to 25 inches center hub to fender once the gfc goes on.

Imo I would stick to option 3. Hate the level look :bananadead: Especially when off-roading rake is good to see over these huge hoods.

This is similar to my experience. I believe Icon undersells the amount of lift and the only reason I can think of is to anticipate settling over time. I have about 300 to 350 pounds with topper, other stuff in back. I did option 2 and got 2". Icon advertised 1.75" with 200 pounds.

Option 3 they advertise 2.625" with no load and you are getting more than that WITH 400 pounds load.

think because you are on stock billies, there limiting your droop so your brake lines are fine

That makes sense. I'm planning on installing 5100s in the near future. Will have to reassess the brake lines then.

Yeah it's pretty crazy how high it is. I'm debating option 1 vs 2 now but I think I'll start with option 1 and then go to 2 if needed. Don't want to do it twice if I don't need to. Already starting over tomorrow.

Speaking of which, which leafs should I remove to get this pack back to option 1?

How much clearance were you short?

You could always let some air out of your tires and add weight in the bed to clear getting out of your garage. I am running a similar topper, (Alu-Cab Contour canopy and only extra weight at the moment are steel skids, sliders, and a full size spare in the bed.

    pic for reference

Nice truck. Are you at option 3?

Good call on airing down, didn’t think of that. Luckily I have another vehicle and don't need the truck right now so it's okay being stuck in there. It's actually not "stuck" as it appears that I can just barely get out of the garage if I remove the racks from the top of my camper, which sit 2.5" above the roof, so currently I'm about 2.5" too tall for my ideal height in the garage. I like to leave the racks (or "beef bars" as gfc calls them) on full time so it's easy to add/remove solar panels.
Now I'm pondering whether I should set it at option 2 / remove the racks and drive it for a while and see if the springs settle to get to my desired height or just go straight to option 1. I think option 3 may be overkill regardless, as I doubt they would settle 2.5"

shocks are gona be limiting factor. but with my icon omegas there was no way stock lines were long enough. i added a 1" spacer and longer bolt to the brake line bracket on the axle. this got me just enough where i felt comfortable at full droop.

Thanks man. I am set to stage 3. I would leave it at stage 3 and drive it a bit if I was you. I am not a fan of level or reverse rake truck stances. The way I look at it, we already have about 130 lbs just with our canopies. Option 2 only gives you 1.75" with a mere 200 extra lbs. That's nothing. I mean, a loaded cooler can weigh north of 60 lbs. If you were completely stock I would probably suggest option 2 for all the items I mentioned above. Gear weight adds up quickly. I didn't want to have to fuss with the leaf springs as I added extra weight.

I like the ride and stance (close to factory). And when I actually load up the rear, I won't be dragging ass.

On any of the stages your leafs will eventually settle. Give them some time, at least 5000k to break them in. I installed stage 3 on my truck. Originally measured 25.5” from center of hub to bottom of fender after install. I always have a constant weight of 300 lbs. Steel bed rack, full size 33” spare, steel rear bumper, factory bed mat, full steel skids and steel sliders. 4 months later and my leafs now measure 24.5”. If you have similar weight or more than me, expect your leafs to settle the same or a bit more. If you have less constant weight than me, then option 2 might be the better option
