Ive had my stage 2 installed for a couple weeks now and man this thing feels bouncy. I can feel every bump in the road. Anyone experiencing the same thing on their stage 2?

I didnt touch the settings. I left it the way it came from Icon. I read the reviews before I bought them. Only complaints was that it was a little stiff and the ride is suppose to be firm. Its not that stiff but it feels bouncy amd sloppy.

all I can tell you is Icon uses digressive valving. That can make it bouncy and firm at lower speeds. Unfortunately thats all I can contribute

Threaded shock bodies that achieve lift by preloading the supplied springs, correct?

Where is the collar in the thread run? Did you get a lot of lift?

You can tinker with adjusting the collar to reduce spring tension (lower lift, increase travel) and see if that helps. I'd start with no more than 1/2" of adjustment at a time.

There's no actual adjustment for the shock action itself is there? IE it's an adjustable coilover, but not an adjustable shock?

That is the nature of the stage 2 kit. It is geared for go fast offroading shenanigans. There is nothing wrong with the kit, that's just how it is. It needs to be stiffer to absorb bumps while wheeling.

"Bouncy", if you mean you hit one bump and it feals like you hit 2, then you need more rebound damping.
"Feel every bump in the road" , if you mean too harsh, then back off the pre-load.

Do you have adjustable rebound damping on the stage 2? If so increase it. If I remember correctly (probably not) King has a bypass adjustment that will achieve similar results. But you may want to reduce it rather than increase it.
As for pre-load, people get too concerned with inches of lift that ride quality / correctly working suspension. Back off the pre load on the spring if you feel it's too stiff.

How long have you had them on? Mine were pretty bouncy for the first couple hundred miles. They're a lot better now. And I cranked mine up about to about a 2.25" lift.

I thought it was the opposite and what youre explaining is digressive valving.

Its adjustable coilvers. Theres no adjustments for dampening if thats what youre asking. I left everything the way it came from icon. Its a very moderate lift and nothing too aggressive.

My issue isnt that its stiff. It just very bouncy. Every little bump it bounces around

Im not concerned with inches of lift. I bought the kit and left it the way it came from icon. Theres no dampening adjustments on the stage 2. The height itself is fine and its not an aggressive lift at all. I feel like if i backed off the preload and lowered it a bit my tires will definitely rub.

Ive had them on for a couple hundred miles, not long at all. You think should crank them up? I like the way it sits now.

Yeah I know. Stiff equals bouncy, however.

I only cranked them to level out a little and to compensate for taco lean. As for the stiffness, I really think it takes a little bit for the coils to break-in. They were super stiff at first but now they're a lot more compliant. Taking bigger bumps is a lot more fun with these than stock TRDOR suspension. Not to mention it drives much better on the road with less body roll and what not.

Also, did you get your new wheels/tires on at the same time? The bumpiness might be from your stiffer tires too.

Seems stiff springs equal bouncy when not properly dampened.

    If, as you describe
then it would seem this might not be a good product choice for street use?

I've run 4x stiffer than OE suspension, properly dampened, on other marquees, that were never bouncy. Of course that was in a very different set of conditions than you describe above. It was go fast shenanigans, just not off road :D
