Sounds like it's not a driver friendly setup !
Pretty strange as Icon has such a great name not to mention OP had to pay big $$$ for what he has gotten !!

Ok I am obviously not an expert but I believe the difference in stage 2 and stage three is the UCA's ? Could that be it ?

I have no idea what sort of # springs they use but they definitely have to be over 550 which is stock. They are likely linear over progressive also I'd imagine so that does not help. As far as I'm aware the Icon Stage 2 kit was never marketed towards a street driver.

The issue the OP is having is a direct reflection of not doing proper research before purchasing. Many people on here just buy the first thing they see that is worded in such a way that makes them feel like it will be the ultimate ever. The truth is, more often than not your suspension is either tuned for street friendliness or off road friendliness. It is very difficult to tune for a setup which caters to friendliness in both unless you understand how to properly valve flutter stacks in the shocks and that is just speaking for progressive, digressive like Icon is a totally differently animal fluid dynamics wise.

I have 700lb springs on my kings and it is a tad firm but NOT bouncy at all. Sounds like your shocks may not even be charged?

Im still not sure what you mean by bouncy. Is it stiff and you feel every bump in the road or is it swaying around like an old cadillac and bouncing over and over after a big bump? If its the latter something is wrong. Its probably the first and if so its some what to be expected. As others have said icon uses a diggressive profile which utilizes more aggressive low speed compression (read stiffer on small stuff). If you didnt want this you shouldnt have gotten icon. Some like it because it makes it drive more like a normal car on the road.

And just food for thought they absolutely did not have to make them diggressive to handle stuff at speed. Pretty much everyone else uses a progressive profile which is basically just a linear ramp. Soft low speed compression hard high speed compression.

Ive ridden in a T4R with icons and didnt fancy the diggressive damping but in no way would i consider it bouncy. A touch stiff at worst. They're pretty damn nice imo

I love my Icon Stage 2 setup. Yes, it doesn't ride like a caddillac, but when you hit bigger bumps and rough terrain you feel the difference. If you're looking for super-soft ride in an offroad truck suspension, I'd definitely look elsewhere.

compared to a Stock tacoma suspension, how would you describe the ride with an Icon stage 2/3, as daily driver. Roads in Mtl are very bumpy and bad. i am looking into upgrading for a smoother ride

    all tore up already
Did you install the tires and wheels at the same time? Like some have said I'd check tire pressure and make sure you are in the 30-34psi range. Higher than that and it bounces a ton.

Which trim of Tacoma do you have, and what are you looking to change? (The second part of that question is surprisingly difficult to articulate, I know. Suspension is a complicated beast.:cookiemonster:)

I would recommend starting with the basics. Look for articles that go into detail about digressive vs linear/progressive valving. Then start reading into various shocks from there.

I like a digressive shock with good dampening for example - it will feel firm and planted without a lot of body roll, but will loosen up over high speed impacts. It's good for a truck that does a lot of highway/towing and will occasionally take it over rough washboard. The big downside to digressive is that it will still rattle you over very small or low speed impacts - speed bumps, small concrete seams, and the like. But for big potholes its as smooth as silk.

On the opposite end is a strongly progressive setup, great for low speed crawling but can feel very roly-poly on the highway.

Somewhere between the two are the linear shocks. A linear shock with very good dampening will float over any surface but they tend to be expensive. They will also not have that racecar-through-a-switchback turning performance of a good digressive. Most people are ok with that considering it's a midsize totally-not-a-racecar truck.

Welcome, have a read through some of the suspension threads.
